Got everything you need here. Does accommodation. Good traditional food. Jennings Tied house and the Sneck Lifter was in great condition. Cheerful staff.

Recommended.

Called into The Royal Oak last week. Not been in for a couple of years and was glad to see it hasn't changed a bit, which was great news. Had a pint of Jennings Bitter which was excellent. The pub is comfortable and cosy and well worth a visit if you are in the area.

The other pub in Braithwaite village near the bus stop so it had to ticked, but it's not in the GBG.

A Jennings pub with 4 ales on & the 5th from Marston's (who own Jennings). My pint of Jennings Bitter was very good.

The Royal Oak is a lovely pub internally with various maps of the area and lakes, a couple of brewery mirrors & ample seating for diners.

Large car park to the front with seating areas to the side.

Busier out than in as the sun was shining. A decent pub that's on various bus routes to and from Keswick so you can tick both pubs easily.

During a weekend camping I visited the pub on several occasions. Its is a pleasant traditional looking pub with a full range of Jennings ale.The beer is well looked after and the food is good if pricey. However the food is very good and you get large portions and if you don't want a big meal try the childrens meals which are the same as the main meals but more than adequate at half the price.Yiu can book for a small dining area or go early to get a table in the bar.So pleasant pub for anyboby and prices reflect where it is.

Visited on a dreary wet day after walking from Keswick. Was expecting and hoping to get a cheery welcome. Disapointed to be "greeted" by barmaid who was as miserable as the weather outside. Made little effort to engage us and made no effort to offer help when she could clearly see that my wife was trying to locate the toilet. Pint of Jennings Cumberland and a soda water with lime almost 5 - far more expensive than most city pubs. Shame as pub appeared quite homely but would avoid on my next visit to Braithwaite - there are others to choose from.
