user reviews of Brecks, Rotherham

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

the brecks is a large, imposing looking building. sat on the A631 west bawtry road [rotherham south bypass]. It is a whitbread house, consisting of a pub, resturant, and premier inns lodge. There is a large car park adjacent.
***
the main entrance leads in to a large modern, timbered bar area, offering drinks and bar meals. There is also a games room to the rear. There is usually a couple of decent cask ales on. The have held the "cask marque" award for some time.
***
near the main door is another entrance leading off to the restaurant, which offers full a-la-carte and set menus. Its an old-ish building but has character, and is not "run-down". the meals are usually decent quality and service reasonable.
***
verdict:
I do like the place, and I think I'd drink here more often if I lived closer. We also like the restaurant, but as its a bit pricier than pub menus, so we only tend to go now and then as a treat. Nice place on the whole. definitely has a "hotel" feel about it.
