An ok place, but more of a family eating affair than a "pub". Expensive - and poorly kept and poured - beers.

I have IMG1975. It's been tarted up a bit, as Charles Wells is wont to do as of late. The decor is smarter and ambience improved, but the pub has certainly lost some of its haecceity. Good food, good beer (Eagle and Directors), good place for a pint or two, or to take the family out for a meal.

Not one to make a special trip for necessarily, but if you're in the area there ain't much else, and it does the job nicely.

Has anyone been here since 2005??

Lets start with the few good things about this pub...it has an OK beer garden, drinks reasonably priced and staff were friendly. But its also very small, crowded, extremely smoky, full of teenagers and screaming kids. Food only served 12-2pm. Attracts the sort of clientele that seems to think its OK to leave a 2yr old child in a pushchair outside alone and unsupervised at 10pm on a Saturday night near a main road...avoid because you will not enjoy.
