Please spell the pub's name correctly. Only one g in Wagon. More importantly, give the correct postcode. It is CB21 4JT. I've just sent 100 followers of my band which is playing there soon, to the centre of Cambridge (CB1).

Stopped for a pint early evening whilst on a cycle ride. Austere bar populated by half a dozen locals glued to the footy on the small "widescreen" tv. Choice of IPA or "Old Squit" (I think) which was good. Landlord down to earth but helpful and willing to chat with a stranger, so despite the slightly strained atmosphere (they were losing) it felt comfortable. Have no doubt though that this is a drinking pub. Small garden out the back would be pleasant in good weather.

Always known as the spit and sawdust pub of the village.
20 years ago, the standing joke was that once you were eighteen you were too old to go in. These days, it's a noisy haven for a certain type of male drinker that prefers lager to a real drink. That said, the IPA isn't bad, although I was put off by someone I took to be the landlord, wandering around with his backside hanging out of a pair of tatty jogging bottoms.
Great jukebox. Friendly bar staff.
