Had a meal which was very nice and no pricier than local rivals. ale was off and the barman was a bit off hand with me although I was very polite. def improvement as a pub in general though.

It is several months since I have visited this pub and what a brilliant transformation! Friendly staff who actually want you to be there; good value food - fresh fish excellent; even looks smarter than it used to. A definite return trip planned.

Returned on the strength of the last review, after all places can change. Have to say my impression of both beer, food and attitude was much nearer the preceeding review. Something funny going on here that 3 customers within as many weeks have such different service. This is the last time I will return for a while I am afraid, still cant recommend.

I have been visiting this pub for the last few month with my family and have noticed a tremendous improvement in the quality of the food and the service. So many fresh choices are offered on the board and in the new menus. The garden make it even more attractive. Strongly recommended

Let's try a different pub for somewhere to eat I said. I wish I hadn't serious loss of brownie points. Less than 5 minutes after being served the food was on the table. It may come out of a microwave but I'd at least like the pretence that it had been cooked. 9.25 for each meal, on the high end for this type of pub grub but OK if the food is good and you get value for money. The portions were postively stingy, each main course probably cost less than 50p in ingrediants. My lasagne was accompanied by the smallest bowl of chips you have ever seen and we're not usually big eaters but there was just nothing there. .Not so much as a lettuce leaf accompanied. 10 minutes later we had finished and were still hungry. The food itself was OK and my pint of Green King IPA ws presentable but it's such an average pint to start with it's difficult to get wrong. I won't be going back.
