Lol, a northern pub at Number One! This is outrageous, I must complain to my MP!

Top pub this.Excellent quiz nite (we did 3 quizzes but think theres also a picture one that we missed)and a very entertaining finale to the evening (play your cards right type thingy someone walked off with 500 when we were there) the landlord really makes the nite tho bit,bit of a showman!I hear it opens till 12 on Wednesdays,Fridays,Saturdays and Sundays which is good to know!Pool table also plays very nicely and it was only 40p.Couple of real ales on offer also including jennings cumberland which reminded me of being in the lakes - No bad thing at all!A proper traditional pub.Go!

I concur with the other commentees, Wednesday nights Quiz ... includes 2 General Knowledge rounds, a Picture round and a Music round, each with seperate prizes of upto 50 each ... all for FREE. ..... Then there is a Jackpot of upto 500 (1 entry), so it's worthwhile going just to be in with a chance of the prizes, you could possibly walk away with!

... Sunday night is the time for Nostalgia!!! when all the music comes from the 60a and 70s era,

Both night the entertainment is thrown in for FREE

The pub itself has a great ambiance, and after a few or three visits you will be treated as an old friend

The landlord,Steve,Possibly offers the best quiz night on the planet on Wednesday night.Although abandon all hope of winning the music section of it - there are some very knowledgable music lovers who drink in here.Very lively also on a Friday.Good pint of Jennings Cumberland ale.
