Corner pub in the centre of Lancaster that appeared to be hosting a party and a karaoke night last night. There were a few characters. Lancaster Blonde, Cottage Blindside, Pennine Amber Necker & Timothy Taylor Landlord were the 4 ales. Service was good. Karaoke is not really my thing. So I moved on rather quickly.

OK but not the best pub in Lancaster by a good margin. The 3.7%v ABV Tirrill ale seemed rather pricy at £3.40 and was similarly undistinguished. Unusually, the gents' toilet was "out of order" so had to use the disabled one instead.

lovely city centre boozer featuring five handpumps and three ales(Osset/sharps/hopback)the pint of Osset "silver king" (3.20) was lovely (just like the barmaid) food looked good and was very well priced,7/10

Thank you god a pub that has improved... Oh! its just the look, beers still poor, not sure whether they are serving food. Bar staff worst we've seen all day, don't look like they give a xxxx.

A 'saved by the ale' pub, decent beer, which should be your primary reason for visiting. An ordinary pub in other respects, fairly disinterested barmaid, not very busy except for some chavs feeding a quiz machine (either that or a fruit machine) in the corner.

Spit and sawdust like pub with some appropriate company put 3 Lake District ales were on and the Bowland was particularily nice - worth a visit to tell them that Real ale is in demand.

Another visit and still that welcoming. Decent pint of Bowland Dragon. Bar staff liked the sound of their own voice's.
A quick pint pub before moving on place!

Not the most welcoming place but sample 2 decent ales from a choice of 4.

Fab location, unusual beer but not particularly well kept. Never a good sign when there are "lease for sale throughout the pub". Disappointing!

Simular thoughts to pint size. V Busy on the saturday we were in recently. Six ales including local ones.

Could be good pub if likes of P Barratt stayed out of it good ale but he would put a man dying of thirst off from drinking here Apart from first issue ale is good food is average not a place to return to

Fantastic - pretty much everything a pub should be. Selection of ales, good atmosphere, comfy seating - a proper pub. Also has proper good music on from time to time. Prices are on the high side, but worth it.

One of the plainer Lancaster pubs, but the best beer I found (Tirril); very friendly and lively

A very nice pub in the town centre, with 6 handpulls on the go over Christmas all in good nick. Clientele mainly local, with a couple of students. Didn't feel the urge to stay beyond a couple though.

Freindly pub, about 4 guest beers including a couple called "Turrels",brewed near Penrith by the landlords brother, food available

A good mixture of characters from uni students to old men in a corner putting the world to rights! A wonderful selection of British & Foreign draught lagers/beers and a full choice of bottles. Food is basic but ample for the price. Good location in the heart of Lancaster's pedestrianised street. Haven't been here for a while, must return soon, one of my personal favourites. 8/10
