Went for Christmas party.
Starter was frozen prawns thawed out under the hot tap.
Main was under cooked slimy beef in what tasted like bisto gravy.
Dessert was bought in ice cream effort.
Not worth the tube fare. Go somewhere else.

Lovely place, good food. However we were charged 1.50 extra for chicken - on ordering a cajun CHICKEN pasta!!!! When we pointed this out to a waitress she apologised and the manager came to us, after a long wait, more or less throwing 3 to my friend and saying that the guy was new!! Sorry - no excuse!! How many others were overcharged in the same way and maybe didn't notice! Good way of making money!! The manager was not apologetic and quite stroppy - not a good way of pleasing customers!! By all means visit as the food was good, pleasant surroundings but watch what you are charged for!!

Had a great time here on Marathon day - tried to drink through the whole cocktail menu - messy. Affordable and good fun.

Hideous. Went there for a pint on Saturday after waiting 15 minutes to be served, I then sat at a table with dirty cutlery left on there during the time I was there. Not what you expect when you are paying nearly 5 a pint. Avoid.

Food was nice and got a discount because I visited the website first! Waitress was lovely. Nice decor and a good atmosphere. Was surprised to find somewhere this good on value right in the middle of Covent Garden!

This place seems to be either really busy or totally empty. When it's busy it's really difficult to get served because people drink and sit at the bar so a queue tends to form behind the only available spaces. G&T costs 5 for a single so it's not exactly the cheapest place. They do food which looks good but I've never eaten. They have some tables out front which people use to sit and smoke at. Music is nondescript - seems to attract men in suits after work and girls on their way to somewhere better. They have a lot of tables downstairs which people reserve for work's dos. There is a bouncere on the door but all they seem to do is check ID and click people in and out. Clean enough. No toilet attendant which is good and they are always clean.

Stay away from this place! The first beer I had was served in a warm glass. I went downstairs for a second beer and the pint tasted like it had cleaning fluid still in it. I only had a few sips and then didnt want to finish it of. This has to be the worst place in covent garden.

no ale so relied on the guiness
Had to manage my own toilet duties without unwanted assistance, as thankfully there was no toilet troll when i visited early on sat evening 6/12/08 (til 9pm anyhows.)
managed to get a table and gawp at the townies.
If you must drink in covent garden and need a bit of space and cheap cocktails its not all bad.

had a fantastic evening last fri,15/8, the Majito's were really excellent. Had a food platter, which was good value and tasty.
met a guy called Steve, tall, dark, handsome, blue striped shirt, out with friends from work , we chatted briefly at the bar discussing cocktails! Never got talking to him again but wanted too ...i was the girl with the blond bob, animal print blouse. If you see this Steve, get in touch.

Its better than All Bar One etc but the food is overpriced and well a bit crap to be honest! The bar is what you'd expect although the service was swift. Wouldn't go in for a nice pint but relaxing glass of wine on a hot day works.

Went into Henry's on the offchance on Saturday late afternoon as most of the other eateries in the area were packed solid. Was surprised to see a doorman on the door of a pub! We were shown to our table quickly and the waitresses were very polite and couldn't do enough for us. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. We had loads of space around our table as opposed to most of the other places we looked in first which were very cramped and everyone seemed to be sitting really close together. Me and my sister both liked the place very much and would definately go back another time.

Full of brain dead All Bar One types. The girls can be pretty but they're all dry white wine and a giggle types. Easy, but the lights aren't always on so they're dull and not the type that keep you interested for very long. This place therefore serves a purpose if you're at a loose end..

Went in just after opening time and interupted a vital conversation between two members of staff [we were the first customers] enquired as to wheather they were open [then tried in Italian & Spanish] were told that they were and were shown to a table.....and prompltly left alone [never asked if we wanted drinks].
There were no menus on the tables and we wanted to eat.
Both the staff had now gone missing [we should have robbed the till].
Saw a member of staff in kitchen [off] whites coming up the stairs and asked him for a menu and waiter / waitress. One arrived without the other.
"Hi, how can I help you?"
Not at all is the answer to that one.
Sadly, Henry's Cafe Bars seem to be like shit in a field; everywhere! [another one on St Martins Lane, just as bad].
Another Spirit brand I won't be giving my money to again.

Have been there many times with family during the day and everyone loved the place.

Sing if you're glad to be gay. Well you'ld have good cause to at this place. It would seem that being straight is no longer deemed to be acceptable. I can't help being what I am and I make no bones about it. I'm certainly not going to change my sexual inclinations for the privilege of being allowed entry into this rather drab looking watering hole. They really should display a sign outside reading 'Not Gay ? Then Stay Away'. It would save a lot of people a lot of hassle. Can't comment on the quality of beer or food as I never got to try any. If service begins at the door then this place gets a fat zero from me !!!

Looked like a nice place, nice drinks, friendly service etc. But didn't stay til end of the evening so can't comment on what's been said before. Monday tuesdays Happy day, not hour. Prices not too bad then. Worth a peek.

Nyegh, it's O.K I suppose. Service isn't quick, souless kinda open space and I got my phone nicked from the table so...actually, it's pretty poor.
Alexis - 5 Mar 2004 13:44
Downstairs is better for meeting people than upstairs, especially if you in your late 20s/30s.The atmosphere is very good most nights of the week. I will not hesitate in recommending Henry's for a good night out or as a place to start the evening off.
costas - 24 Feb 2004 18:46
I went to Henry's on a Saturday night and wasn't impressed. What tried to be upmarket London bar with 25+ cocktails was in fact a jumped up pub that could have been Yates in Harrow. The bouncers were rube and the end of night atmosphere poor. The service was also slow with the bar staff serving pretty women first and trying to impress them with their (poor) Tom Cruise cocktail-making impressions. I might come back for an afternoon drink but not for a big night out.

Fairly nice inside. Overpriced but reasonable food. Overpriced drinks, which is not unusual for Covent Garden. Again a sexist turn the males away at the door policy ruins things, though I have been witness to some aggro in there. Typical tourist and ponce haunt really!
Meister - 4 Aug 2003 15:41
Went there for a bosses leaving party at which well over 2000 was spent at the bar downstairs. On the stroke of 11pm the bouncers were manhandling people off the premises. One to avoid.
James - 8 Jul 2003 13:51
They wouldn't let us in. There were four lads. Couples only, apparently. We tried telling the bouncers we were gay but they weren't having a bean of it! Stupid place.
TheG - 20 Jun 2003 10:38
Most rediculous door policy in the world, this place really winds me up! Went there with my boyfriend and another male friend, we proceeded to walk in only to find that our friend had been stopped at the door, because there were too many males in there already! OK, can maybe understand that but we were a group!!!? Pretty silly really...and the place aint all that anyway...
