Corner bar with bouncers on a Friday evening. But it's convenient for the station. Wells Bombardier Burning Gold was the real ale. Service was quick and the atmosphere seemed better than most other Aldershot town centre pubs. A DJ was playing.

Now serving Doom Bar.

Really liked this place. Had heard about it from the dance tent at Guilfest but had never been to Aldershot. Went on a Saturday night for a friends Birthday and had a great night - excellent Dj, well priced drinks considering it's a trendy Bar, good times!!

No idea why people go on about cleanliness, as far as i've seen it's by far the cleanest pub in town (and i'm quite partial to a drink or 2!).

Agree with VastGirth - the place would definitely benefit with some Real Ale.

Went in there the other Saturday night about 11pm and it was a bit too busy for my liking, nice enough atmosphere though.

Managed by two youngsters who don't know what they are doing and obviously never supervise the cleaning. Great shame as add in real ale and could be a nice place.

Best pub in aldershot by a long way.

Im not sure what the other posters are on about but tis always been relatively spotless when ive been there.

Excellent quiz on wednesday nights.

The only complaint would be (and its a big one), no real ale! Not even a bottled one. So unless you want larger your stuck with john smiths of guiness.

The only Pub in the Aldershot town centre i'd go in! I go to their monthly comedy night which is always a good crack. Great Dj's at the weekend but may be some times a little loud. Decor's more likely to be seen in a trendy London Bar than in Aldershot. Agree with Lazy_J - A Diamond in the Rough.

This place smelt bad! The limited selection of beer available was served in dirty glasses and tasted as bad as the glass suggested! Needs a long hard look at its cleanliness. Shame as the decor is good, could be a good venue, well positioned in a town that has very little to offer in the way of good bars/pubs.

gents toilets had not been cleaned for at least 4 days recently and stank badly

Great pub and just across from the station. Good beers and lovely atmosphere. Added bonus is the quiz machine and a fairly decent beer garden.

Friendly bar staff, I would definitely go there again, one of the better bars in Aldershot!

This is a decent pub with Hoegarden being my prefered choice of drink here! Could do with 1 ale on offer tho would be good? but is unlikley, shame! Oppersite the train station! good pub will be back soon!

The pub is the greatest looking pubs in Aldershot. Also the staff are a fun quirky bunch especially that American bar maid. The Funky end is a diamond in the rough of Aldershot. If you go to The Funky end look for that American bar maid she is the friendliest of the bunch.

This used to be a gay & lesbian pub when this was The Southwestern but definately not now. It's more likely to be inhabited by metrosexuals because of it's trendy interior. They once done some filming in here for the TV series Changing Rooms (I think?!?) with Nick Knowles.

As one of the earlier posts quite rightly said there are no ales available but only ones like Carling, Stella etc. Quiz nights on Wednesdays are good fun and worth going to and the staff are friendly.

This is the sort of place where you'd go if you were on an office night out or if you are getting ready to go out clubbing. If you're over 35 then you may prefer to visit before 5pm...

Rumour has it that this is a gay bar. Although this could merely be a rumour, seemed quite trendy.

Looks like its trying to be one the trendy pubs that guildford up the road has, but didn't really work for me, might be the "banging" tunes and DJ bit that put me off. Friendly enough place for the most part though

Popped in here on a Saturday night while waiting for a bus. This feels more like a club than a pub. Moving lights were flashed onto a wall and modern dance music was being played at a volume that created atmosphere but still allowed for a sensible level of conversation. No real ale, but San Miguel and Hoegarden are available on tap. Plenty of young customers without being overly crowded. Far better than expected even for an aging bloke like me.

Had one brief pint in here on a Saturday lunchtime waiting for a train. Was dead - we were the only ones in there. Lacked character I thought, but better than standing on the station platform I suppose. Beer was fine

cocktails fantastic. knock u off your feet, i thinks its the woohoo or something.. this is like the trendy bar in the shot.. def worth a visit.

The best in Aldershot by far. Friendly staff, decent tunes, chilled atmosphere - can't recommend it enough.

Used to work up the road from here. Great place at lunchtime. Good food, good beers. As someone else said, an oasis in Aldershot.

Don't write Aldershot off just yet. The funky end is a diamond in the rough. Its great, the food tastes goooood, the staff are friendly, the music is cool (sometimes a little loud) and the cocktails are brilliant. Well worth a pint (or 6)

carla1 - 30 Jul 2006 20:24
The food at lunchtime is really good and worth a go although it is not exactly a full menu. Home-cooked and delicious.
Bit too loud for me in the evening though its got a great atmosphere.
slugbreff - 14 Jan 2006 18:00
A proper nice bar with a good atmosphere and decent music. No TV screens and no karaoke which is a relief.
Drinks are more expensive than elsewhere in Aldershot, but worth the price hike.
Utterly packed on Friday and Saturday nights.

If your sick of 'chilling' and you hate music with no lyrics don't go here.
fallendragon - 3 Nov 2005 16:08
Very nice, chilled bar.
Great music all the time with live DJ's!!

A must if you're into you're music and chilled evenings!!

Best bar in Alsershot - like a trendy London bar in Aldershot - weird!!
John Siller - 5 May 2004 18:55
Young, funky, fresh, friendly, lively. This bar stands out from the rest in the area, offering DJ's at the weekend with a variety of music from dance to hip hop. The food is reasonably priced and good quality, with main meals, sandwiches and more food such as exotic thai currys. Great in the summer sitting in the court yard with a jug of cocktails off their extensive vodka shot and cocktail menue. Highly recomended.
