Freehold for sale sign on the outside of the building so i guess thats it, cant see anyone in their right mind wanting to buy this except for flats.

Didn't like this pub, too noisy, a bit rough

this pub has to be one of the worst pubs i've ever been in, and ive been in some right dumps. It's like going back 20 years! Bass mild on tap! never ever seen that before. Kids running around the pub with hula hoops at 11pm on a sunday evening! good pool table mind you.

Id include this pubs in my book of '10 pubs to go in before you die' its that good!!

Sad as I am to see an old pub go to the wall I'm afraid it's more a case of putting this old friend out of it's misery and letting it go to the great pub crawl in the sky.
It may be a bit early for a eulogy but this was once the best pub in town with an amazing trade, you could hardly get in the door at weekends but those days are long gone and it now attracts the customers most other pubs don't want.

Only days or weeks to go before this 'community' pub is lost to the community. Rent has not been paid, and the Landlord is not noted in the industry for its charity work.
As they say-use it or lose it!

I have been useing the Clifton for many years and find it a very friendly pub, the staff are very helpful, the saloon bar is very light and has a 60s decor, it is a good local pub of which there are not many about
