Went for lunch today to celebrate a family birthday and I could not fault the food or service at all. My bowl of mussels to start was as big as a main course serving and the mussels were huge and juicy. Everyone at the table ended up trying some as I couldn't eat them all. Rest of meal was equally as good. Staff were friendly and the pub had a good atmosphere. Will definately be back again.

Had a lovely meal today sat in the garden. The food was generally very good (particularly the burger) but the pigeon in the salad was a bit tough. Service could have been better - staff were very grumpy and didn't offer sauces etc.

Beer, ambience and staff all good..... food rather poor and expensive. Liver was raw and the vegetables cold when we popped in for lunch. The menu is too large and my baked cod on top of a green mess was awful.

Has a good reputation for food (which is why we stayed here) and the restaurant was busy on Saturday night three weekends ago and even busier the following lunchtime. Gastro-quality dishes although the place still retains its pub feel rather than that of a restaurant. Rebellion IPA, Wadworth's "Leaping Frog" and Sharp's Red Ale available - all good. Nice open fire in the central bar area. Recommended definitely.

Visited for a lunch on a Saturday with a Girlfriend. It was nice to see the pub so busy, there was a great atmosphere in their but unfortunately I do not think the staff could cope with the number of customers, they all came across very stressed! We waited a long time for food, although it was really nice when it arrived and I thought it was good value for money. I ordered the fish board. We sat for 20 minutes with empty glasses and were not offered another drink so had to get up and order at the bar which isn't ideal half way through your meal. It looked like they have a nice garden but unfortunately it was pouring when we visited!

Visited for lunch, 3 real ales on Rebellion IPA, and two Wadworths brews one "Leaping Frog" supposedly their own brew. All beers in excellent condition, but all rather bland in flavour. The food was very good, a tad expensive, but we were happy with the quality and quantity. The outstanding thing was the staff, from the landlord down they were all friendly, helpful and welcoming.

Thoroughly endorse the previous comments. Lovely food - I had fresh soup follwed by delicious chicken. The menu does bias towards carniverous (e.g. not that much choice for vegetarians) but it's the sort of (rare) pub where I'm sure they would go out of their way to oblige anyway. Quiet, unrushed atmosphere and one where you are made to feel genuinely welcome.

Outstanding pub; Good food and a great selection of it, 3 ales on all kept very well and a nice atmosphere - A proper country pub with lots of wood ; rustic but in no ways scruffy - efficient and friendly staff

While other pubs around the area have morphed into snooty upscale restaurants, The Frog remains a genuine local which also happens to serve very good food. The Rebellion bitter is a treat. In the heart of great Chilterns walking country.

My boyfriend and I stayed in this pub and we couldn't recommend it enough! It was a large comfy room, nice and clean with everything you would need. The food was to die for and the staff were accomodating and friendly - they even gave us a lift to a nearby vinyard as they didn't want us to waste money on a cab! Do stay here if you want to explore the Henley/Reading area.

A good pub in a nice setting selling excellent beer and good food. The chalked menu over the bar looks rather out of character though.

Lovely pub, lovely people. Always had great food- the Beer battered fish and chips are to die for as is the Banoffee pie !!!

Wonderful atmosphere with a warm, personable welcome and comfortable surroundings. The latter especially attributable to muted and traditional decor which gives a "lived in" and "homey" rather than "designer" feel. Great fire with surrounding benches and a good selection of beer and wines. First rate food available in the adjoining restaurant and pub areas.

Bit of an eating pub (the old crown down the road used to be better till it shut) but the beer is very good, and there is a nice fireplace - great for a swift half during a winter walk. Lovely garden as well but it can get very busy.
