please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Absolute shithold. i stepped in the toilets and got piss up to my ankles. Although the music is brilliant and some of the bar staff are nice (apart from one, such a snobby stuck up cow who wouldn't give me my 2.40 change and tried to get me thrown out by the bouncers because of it) Also my girlfriend was harrassed by one of the bouncers. But the music and atmosphere was okay.
Publover88 - 10 Nov 2010 11:19
good music, good bar staff and good beer! a little pricey and you do get a few idiots in there but its worth going there. rock night is the best night down there!!
jadem90 - 23 Oct 2009 05:11
blue_scrumpy absolute dive????, dont know what sort of establishments you normally frequent ? but absolute dive its definitely not, not everyones cup of tea granted and if you want a pint of warm real ale dont go, if you like decent music then thats another story.
TSW - 2 Sep 2009 18:38
I remembered this place as an absolute dive. But then I saw it in the beerintheevening top 100. So I gave it another go. It's still an absolute dive. Service was poor, there were only 2 tables to sit around and several of the windows were smashed. VH1 Classic was playing on a TV at the same time as a jukebox and a live singer was warming up. The only person enjoying this cacophany of noise was the drunken girl at the bar who was waving her arms around in a rather manic fashion. London Pride was available on handpump. But I don't think I'd drink here again, even if it was the only pub around for hundreds of miles. Poor.
blue_scrumpy - 17 Jul 2009 22:15
Fab and looooooads of fun.! TRY IT
mechanic_bex - 4 Jun 2009 14:45
In reply to Tombsie you might not be sad mate but a lot of others will. Drank down there for years and it wasn`t just a good pub it was a great pub. It was different and not just another generic town centre chav magnet. Unfortunately i`ve been told its going downhill quickly, it was the best music pub around, although it didnt have an ideal lay out. Totally agree about the oik factor though, that was one of the reasons i dont go there too much nowadays
TSW - 6 Feb 2009 21:03
Best pub ever. Full Stop
amandatemplar1 - 28 Dec 2008 15:35
Great if you are 18. Lost a lot of its character from years back. One of only a few pubs in Uxbridge to have live music, but the shape of the pub does not allow it to be a great venue. Beer on tap tastes rank, I think the landlord is only bothered about getting young oiks in to spend their s than to run a great boozer. Won't be sad when this place gets closed down, which I hear on several grapevines could be on the cards.
tombsie - 25 Dec 2008 09:39
I was there for an acoustic evening run by Michelle Nichols who I had gone to see after seeing some of her stuff on facebook and whilst she was performing the barman left the tv on at the back of the pub with the speakers on, so while trying to listen to Michelle sing I could also hear the tv (which was showing a programme with Peter Andre & Jordan, two of the biggest wastes of space on this planet). You would have thought the barman would have had the savy to switch off the tv as no one was watching it, but apart from that it's a nice pub.
Genreman - 14 Apr 2008 10:11
I have a love hate relationship with this pub i really like it for the music and atmosphere, but at the same time you sometimes get real idiots that frequent this pub.
Its still the best pub in Uxbridge. Rock night first saturday of every month is excellent.

unreal1066 - 3 Feb 2008 11:13
went here friday night, what a shit hole...so very packed that i couldnt move. it was also very dirty i noticed and full of oddball people
_GoodTime_ - 29 Jan 2008 14:12
This is the number one pub in Ux - Rock on. Don't ever close it!

According to its Myspace site the Treaty leasehold is up for sale. Have to say I`m absolutely gutted, Dave the landlord has achieved legendary status following on from Debbie. The Treaty is the best music pub for miles and the only genuine alternative establishment in a sea of chavdom. You only have to visit on weekends to see how popular the pub is. My only hope is Dave sells it on to a like minded person or we lose a local institution, it would break my heart to see the pub go "normal".
TSW - 25 Jul 2007 18:39
My favourite pub in Uxbridge, it's always been a bit of an alternative pub this one. Decent juke box, and assortment of live bands and DJ's at the weekends. Late drink too if your still up for it. Recommended if you enjoy proper music!
UFCmark - 25 Jul 2007 17:12
I HAVE BEEN A REGULAR NOW FOR OVER A YR AND A HALF, I LOVE THIS PUB IMENSELY, AND NOW WORK THERE ON FRIDAY NIGHTS, DAVE THE OWNER IS A LEGEND, AND A GREAT BOSS TO WORK FOR.
THIS PUB HAS A FANTASTIC ATMOSPHERE, YOU ARE AN EQUAL HERE, AND EVERYONE IS FRIENDLY, AND YOU COULD WALK IN ON YOUR OWN NOT KNOW ANYONE AND CAN GARUNTEE YOU WOULD HAVE MADE AT LEAST 1 NEW FRIEND! THERE IS GREAT LIVE MUSIC, AND VARIOUS DJ'S!
IF YOU HAVENT BEEN HERE BEFORE THEN YOU NEED TO GET YOUR ASS DOWN THERE, ALSO NOW THERE IS ORIGINAL BAND NIGHTS ON A THURSDAY AND POKER NIGHT ON TUESDAYS!
WHY WOULD I GO ANYWHERE ELSE, THE CROWN AND TREATY IS THE BEST PUB AROUND! SERIOUSLY I HAVE ALOT OF PASSION FOR THIS PUB, ANY TROUBLE IS SORTED OUT STRAIGHT AWAY.
DAVE YOU KNOW I LOVE YOU.

great night out, stays open a little later than most pubs and good atmosphere! music is fab
mrs_newcastle - 29 Apr 2007 14:03
The best music pub for miles around. Drank there for years , even played for the football team in the early nineties. It was about this time when it started to get the music buzz. The guys from Freakscene, the indie disco which originally played at Hillingdon cricket club decamped to the Swan and Bottle then the on to the Treaty. I haven`t been there much now for a while but still get there now and then and will definitely be there saturday for mates band the Veenex.Only criticism is its heaving down there most weekends but I suppose its down to being the only pub in Uxbridge where you`ll hear good music, keep up the good work Dave, I would hate to see the Treaty change
TSW - 13 Mar 2007 15:27
When are you going to get the Motown band Mixed Company back in there? they really know how to rock those classic dance tunes!! We need some James Brown!!great that the Hoggs have got a regular slot!
Shedevil - 2 Mar 2007 11:19
'' UNSAFE PASSAGE '' are gigging here on the 27th January.
scratch - 16 Jan 2007 21:11
This my local & been going there a fair few years now! Lots of change's have happened but has consistantly had a good atmosphere! Has great band's,bit pricey for drinks but that don't seem to matter if the people are welcoming ! It is'nt clicky, even if you are a new face, unlike some pub's where you feel you should'nt be there if are not a local! So come on what you waiting for!
gezrocks - 21 Nov 2006 17:19
heard lots about this pub and visited for the first time last night. What a great pub. Three bands in one night! The singer in the last band trashed his guitar.
I normally travel to Camden to watch bands but will now be a regular here. Only bad point it was very smokey.
nicho - 12 Nov 2006 18:30
Dog Chewed the Handle are playing at this pub on 4th November with frontman Gareth Ainsworth likely to have a large number of followers on the night from QPR! All previous gigs have been hailed as a massive success and I am sure the night in Uxbridge will be no different!!

Two very good weekends of live music at the treaty. It was good to see East of Java playing at a different pub other than the Brookhouse in Hayes.Iv been on their website & seen they are booked to play there again.Undiscovered put on a great show, kept the pub rocking allnite, the sound & light show was 1st class.Hope they are also booked to play there again soon.Good pub, great entertainment.
oldrocker - 23 Oct 2006 13:04
introduce yourself and the first drink will be on me. heard good reports about both these bands, thanks for the tip.
crowntandtreaty - 12 Oct 2006 19:03
Fantastic!!! Me & the girls from work will be there this Saturday to see Undiscovered.Well done the Crown & Treaty.xxx
anonymous - 11 Oct 2006 00:33
undiscovered are playing this saturday the 14th and east of java the following saturday the 21st.
crowntandtreaty - 9 Oct 2006 14:08
What happened to the dj that played at the treaty regulary he played new years eve?
wrecked - 20 Sep 2006 20:16
I have been there a couple of times to play darts. The guys their are cool but I wouldn't go for the music, a bit heavy for me.
anonymous - 19 Sep 2006 16:35
There are so many people on this site promoting their own bands.I find it very annoying because us people that use this site like to know more about whats on offer at the pub.I must say tho, these two bands you have booked are fantastic. You may even steal alot of punters from another well known music pub in Hayes.
Hope you keep your site up to date,so we know exact dates they are playing.
anonymous - 31 Aug 2006 15:53
on the advice of the last two posters both undiscovered and east of java will be playing at the treaty in october.
we dont actively seek bands just listen to demos dropped into us and book the ones we think will go down well, to date this year we have had 43 different bands, some covers some originals.
i am happy to book bands on the recomendations of customers providing people dont abuse this by promoting there own bands.
check out our new site on myspace for future listings.
regards, dave
crowntandtreaty - 30 Aug 2006 17:20
Hi will here i was just thinking the same thing as to why the crown doesnt have bands like undiscovered and east of java down there. It is defently time for a change in scene. I'm a regular on the first and last friday down at the brookhouse but i live in uxbridge so would be good to have the bands that people love to hear playing in the crown and treaty. Undiscovered and East of Java are by far the best two cover bands in London!!
will001 - 25 Aug 2006 14:35
Hi Dave, nice of you to take the time to post a comment. The air conditioning is great & its a good thing having doormen.Me & the girls from work are in the treaty every other week, alternating with seeing bands at the Brookhouse in hayes. Both pubs are fantastic live music venues. We mostly go to the Brook to see East of Java & Undiscovered. They have got to be the best two bands in London & would go down so well at the Treaty.Plus we live & work in Uxbridge,so we wouldnt have to get a cab home!!!
Lets have some different bands dave,we all love the Treaty...
anonymous - 24 Aug 2006 09:37
Hi, im dave the owner. Just read through peoples comments and must admit to some good points being made. Yes we have suffered recently with a few un-welcome chavs but i hope we have weeded them out and barred any trouble makers. There prescence is due to the old bill changing its image and with some just looking for a late drink. I have tried not to employ door staff as in the past this was not necessary, but due to recent incidents Big Lee & Ray will now be out front at weekends, probably known by most regulars. We will now strictly enforce the in by midnight rule and encourage people to use the rear outside area instead of the front. I have also recently installed air conditioning as the pub was always to hot & sweaty.
This has always been a music pub and always will be as long as i am here.
By the way Churchill is my manager, Clive, the one who constantly has a bonfire hanging out of his mouth.
Thanks for your custom in the past and hope to see you all in the near future.
crowntandtreaty - 22 Aug 2006 18:42
gotta be careful what I say because I`ve used this pub for many years and have been very protective about it in the past but have to say its getting a bit out of hand down there.Still get great band nights there but there seems to be a big rise in chavvy kids taking advantage of the late closing at weekends. I`ve seen more trouble down there in the last six months than I have in the previous ten years, I had a load of mates turn up for a band night recently and they buggered off because the atmosphere was a bit tense, people puking all over show outside etc. The pub used to be the place where the local alternative crowd hung out but I know a lot of old regulars are thinking about moving on.Dave the landlord is a top bloke but I hope he doesn`t let the Treaty become another Old Bill, albeit with good music
anonymous - 3 Aug 2006 22:34
Hi Axeplayer, I have seen One Bitter Pill at the globe. Have they improved? Also checked out their website and they don't seem to be very busy... Is the site up to date? Me and the girls from work check out a lot of bands; we also see east of java, punchmonkey and Undiscovered since we saw them at the treaty. It seems to me as though the guvnor at the treaty either likes to keep the same bands all the time, or does he not pay very well to attract different bands?... All the best to One Bitter Pill, after reading your reviews, I was wondering if you manage them or are you related to any of them? All the best...
anonymous - 14 Jul 2006 12:06
Undiscovered play on the last friday on every month at the brook house! if you want any more detials let me know ...good friend with band! You are right about the land lord though he has a propper miserable look about him...im not suprized tho...i dont think i cud go in that pub without having a drink! do have the best nights down the treaty tho!
CurlyCurly - 12 Jun 2006 13:30
Went there Sunday for a drink. So pleased i did.Loads of very talented musicians were playing at a jam nite. One young lad on guitar was great, could of only been in his teens!Ive also seen the best rock covers band in any pub. They were called UNDISCOVERED.Can anyone tell me where else they play?Anyone who knows about music should see these guys perform, they are fantastic.Great nite, great beer, landlord was a total misery.Thought Winston Churchill was dead!!!!
anonymous - 2 May 2006 11:51
Went there last night and it was like the old treaty, blinding sounds from the Arctic Monkeys to the Pixies, still pretty packed though but not as bad as it has been mainly thanks to non admittance after 12 which has stopped hordes of people turning up at all hours
TSW - 29 Apr 2006 12:30
Agree with TSW proper music pub, not sure about some of the other reviews though.I did prefer it when Debbie was in charge, far more selective of who she let it. I have noticed that its far busier than it used to be but its pretty uncomfortable because you cant swing a cat in there. My girlfriend who has gone down there for ages wont go anymore it because its starting to get a bit moody with some of the riff raff after a late beer
anonymous - 28 Mar 2006 13:14
Absolute shite. Smoky as always, too packed, dickheads galore. band nights were good, now they are noisy and ridiculous. Would rather eat my own head than go back here.
anonymous - 27 Mar 2006 21:07
If you like your music this is the best pub for miles around. It has a real alternative feel, death metal nights or indie, plus some good live stuff it caters for the crowd who thinks RnB and chart music is shit. The only downside is ,it gets ridiculously packed especially now it stays open til 4. This in turn has attracted a few herberts who wouldn`t have drunk there before, and the new guy seems happy to cram as many bodies in there as possible which has pissed off a few of the old school
TSW - 21 Mar 2006 22:19
This is a great looking building from the outside, just never enter the pub. It's full of horrible people and I feel sorry for the bar staff
anonymous - 28 Nov 2005 14:09
really good pub, especially since it's been under new management-- slightly better than the tragic 'wine bar' uxbridge just isnt ready for it. great pub, good band nights, though can get really packed and not the cheapest in uxbridge.
anonymous - 17 Oct 2005 16:56
what happened to that band blackoutt????? saw them twice down there earlier in the year the band are mental i saw them when they were called the edge of reason and the singer smashed his guitar up, anybody know where they are or if theyre playing still???
flymo - 26 Sep 2005 23:34
The 4 Pillars of Wisdom are playing again on Friday 16th Sept
Also dont miss Rock'n Rollin Blues playing the Friday after.
Both these bands use top musicians and often have special guests - great shows
anonymous - 15 Sep 2005 12:58
NICE LITTLE PUB, GOOD BAND NIGHTS, IF YOU LIKE A BIT OF ROCK (NO PUN INTENDED) YOU WILL LIKE THE LIVE BANDS PLAYING AT THE CROWN & TREATY EVERY WEEKEND. BRUCIE BONUS - NO CHAVS POLICY IN PLACE BUT EVERYONE WELCOME! HEE HEE HEE!
CharleyMouse - 12 Sep 2005 15:18
Some great cover bands have played here over the years. None more so than PUNCHMONKEY who are playing again on the 14th Oct & 25th Nov. Check these guys out, they rock!!!
IanS - 9 Sep 2005 11:51
Well The Infidels are rehearsing a new set for later this year aaron is faster then ever russel hits them skins even harder chris is even moodier and rob is still bouncing around like tigger mark is working on his crowd abuse. So prepare for a night of guitar driven rock......Soon people soon
axeplayer - 4 Sep 2005 20:04
yeah, the wine bar experiment was a disaster. but things are looking up - especially with some great local covers bands such as Frantix and LoudMouse being booked to play.
anonymous - 3 Jul 2005 15:09
I got to briefly manage this bar right before the refurb in 2003. I agree with the comment re the toliets - but note this only applied to the men's and since the new owners have taken over the wading pool seems to have disappeared! There are even flowers and potpourri in the ladies now. The new owners formerly of The Ram I believe, are great blokes and have made the beer taste better, got bands/DJ's, darts tournaments - the list goes on. Still has the ROCK nights as well. The Treaty is hosting a 'Most Haunted' night - so you will be able to know more about it's ghostly history. The locals (as I am now one of) are a down-to-earth bunch, willing to chat to anyone so don't be scared by the first impression. Please don't think it's a wine bar - the previous owners were vastly unsuccessful at changing the atmosphere and it has seen been reclaimed by the sturdy regulars.
Chanelley - 9 Jun 2005 18:55
well the Infidels packed the pub out yet again the drinks were a bit cheaper and the band were payed more so notice was taken of the comments and so they should be better payed. If you missed them you will still be able to hear.but there is a new guitar god in the form of their lead guitarist aaron waddingham bow down before him and play air guitar like you have never played before.Next gig in april I hear.Well I hope to be able to hear again by then.Good time had by all and plenty of air guitarists in evidence.
axeplayer - 3 Mar 2005 12:29
should pay the pub band the infidels more they are brilliant pack the pub out and at the prices they charge for beer they must take a fortune (9.00)for three drinks dearer than my bloody mortgage.
low rating due to beer and drinks prices way over the top.
axeplayer - 8 Feb 2005 12:20
the new manager "debbie",has done a sterling job of turning what was originally a dump into a pleasant place to drink second only to the swan& bottle over the rd!
simon curson - 4 Jul 2004 12:51
as long as the rock nights stay it's ok with me
anonymous - 9 May 2004 22:49
Locals pub.. only good thing is it has a late license. Bar staff are friendly and so are the locals. Unfortunatley the toilets are disgusting - apparently they spent a ruck on doing the place up but forgot the toilets... please just visit this place to see (not use) the toilets... i was there and even locals agreed
billythefish - [email protected] - 3 Apr 2004 00:05
looks nice but thats not what the treaty is about. you should not change a pub that much as it offends the regulars who put lots of money into the tills over the years.
Matt - 25 Jan 2004 10:21
This used to be a great pub, good atmosphere, live music, nice staff and good DJ's.

Now it's been turned into a wine bar........
