Excellent choice of meals and good value.

Fantastic country pub at the bottom of the village street/hill in beautiful Little Baddow - an exquisite part of the world - super houses and real olde worlde England - a retirement dream place. The ale is good and the food of great quality. Maybe a little quicker serving time but I don't want to be picky because i thoroughly enjoyed my evening and recommend it for a visit, wholesale.

Best pub in Danbury area in my opinion.

A very nice traditional country pub. The guest beer was excellent. I will visit it again.

Very nice pub, one waitress for me stood out, i think her name was katie, very polite with a good understanding of her job. the food was also very nice.

A good pub spoilt by people who can't run a pub. Nice beer garden, nice interior and good choice of beers. I was the only person there at lunchtime recently and saw only one other customer on another visit. Surly landlord. Good pub if you want to sit and drink outside. Good surroundings for a crowd to go to drink, when you'd create your own atmosphere. If there's just two or three of you, go further up the hill to the General's.

Very Disappointing - Beautiful Sunny Day in the beer garden. Miserable as hell in the pub - TIP - Stay in the garden.
Food - very poor quality, uncooked vegetables coupled with slow service and a landlord that just isn't interested !! Overall a very, very disappointing experience.

Popped in on a quiet Sunday afternoon for a beer and a bite to eat. Big mistake! Barmaid on her first day with no idea how to pull a pint and not given any guidance whatsoever from the landlord, who was, to put it mildly, miserable and unhelpful when asked for advice on real ales. Really shouldn't be front of house. Ordered food - our next mistake! Took approx. 40 mins to be served a poor excuse for a Ploughmans lunch, prawn baguette, cheese baguette, ham, egg and chips, chicken in red wine sauce with chips and vegetables. The chicken had been cremated and presentation left a lot to be desired. Woman who delivered food to table had obviously suffered a personality bypass and seemed most put out that we should spoil her Sunday afternoon by ordering 'food'. Should really be a nice pub in a lovely setting that we would want to visit again but sadly misses the target by a country mile.

Still a lovely pub. Great food. 3 real ales available.

This pub has a good selection of beer and the surroundings are a little rustic but not without some charm. Food was good and plentiful. This is the sort of pub I'd go to with my mates but if out with our wives would probably go to the General!

There is a leaflet on the bar saying something along the lines of "the present owners brought their catering expertise with them" God what was the food like before they arrived!?

Traditional country pub where the ales are well kept Greene King with a guest. We drank a nice pint from an un-named brewery only identifiable by a postcode - suspect it was Tring.
Large well kept beer garden although the grass showed signs of a recent real ale festival and the menu looked fairly standard pub grub but said it was homemade with a few identified exceptions. Called early evening so unable to comment on it and had the garden almost to ourselves.

A nice rural pub with large car park. Well worth the drive for the well kept range of real ales, and well priced no frills pub grub. The Rodney is a dying breed - keep up the good work.

Indeed I would say everyone was friendly, but felt like I was walking into someone's living room. Quite unsettling, and I'm a local!

Nice old fashioned Country pub. I like pubs like this. Friendly staff aswell. This pub has history. Big beer garden and I like the passageway when you go through to the toilets. Would reccomend coming to this pub if your ever happening to be passing.

Still brilliant. Beer avilable was Greene King IPA, a Crouch Vale, and Ole Speckled Hen.

Food still excellent - good quality, large portions and cheap prices.

I asked the barman to relocate this pub next to my house so I didn't have to drive to it; but he refused. Oh well, can't win them all...
