I completely disagree with these negative comments, its a a nice place to eat, drink and socialise!
I'm glad I went to this place. The burger is fantastic, I also tried some of my friends haddock which was equally as good.
I really recommend this place

nokegthanks - I agree with you to a degree, but given the location of this bar and the fact it's advertised as a "bar & kitchen" I think it's reasonable that people review it from a food angle.

The place has a fairly mediocre supply of beer anyway so reviewing that is not really going to help you much - If I told you the Grolsch here tasted the same as the Grolsch in Stoke on Trent it's not really going to help - and don't get all Lager Police on me...it tastes the same everywhere unless someone has done a VERY bad job of keeping the pipes clean!

Anyway - back to the review - I was with the poncey foodies below...the food was ok (for the price), the grolsch was perfectly fine, the atmosphere was ok (I thought the inside of the place was pretty good and I've seen the place bursting at the seams at night so it must be good). Unfortunately on the day we went, it was understaffed and 2 of the three staff were temp for that day - sadly this tainted the overall experience for most people.

Beer in he evening? Yes, why not. But expect the other people here to be drinking wine or mixers and boring the pants off you with stories of their office (yes, that might be us sat at the table next to you!).

...I even asked for my missing chips a second time and they still didn't bring them...

So much promise, sunny day and outside seating. Unfortunately the service was incredibly slow (didn't help as there just weren't enough staff) and once the food arrived apart from the orders being either wrong or missing, the food itself was not great at all.

Absolutely awful. Don't go here. Service was bad - they didn't bring out the right food and forgot some of the sides. Quality of food was pretty dier too. Don't bother unless all you want to do is sit outside in an alley and have a drink.

Avoid. Was left waiting 30 minutes before being asked for my order. Another 25 minutes wait for an overdone, lukewarm burger. Dreadfuly service.

Had lunch here a number of times and the food has always been great and well priced and the staff friendly and helpful and efficient. In the evening there is a good warm atmosphere. I would recommend. P.S. They must have changed the recipe for the home-made burgers because mine have always been super (maybe the last reviewer prefers birds-eye?)

I had a few pints and a bit of lunch in here on Friday after spotting it out of the corner of my eye down a walkway. Its a strange place that feels like it should be on a lay-by off a main Spanish road. The food was pretty standard with my burger being a little iffy, but the misses loved her toasted ham and tomato sarnie.

Theres not much of a drinks selection as the only pints available are Carling, Grolsch and Guinness. When the nearby offices started to empty out I realised why there wasnt a large draught selection as all and sundry were drinking white wine. This place was formerly called Grayz Inn Wine Bar so perhaps the clientele hasnt changed from then.

I got the feeling that this place livens up in the evening and turns into a disco type venue as there is not much seating and plenty of standing room.

Not really my sort of place and I doubt that Ill ever return.
