Lovely setting adjacent to the river which runs out of Loch Lomond.
I had a nice pint of Hopback 'Summer lightning' which had travelled 400 miles from southern England!

Our pints of Deuchars and Bitter & Twisted were undrinkable (Monday lunchtime) and had to be refunded.

The Balloch House has a lovely location overlooking the river that leads into Loch Lomond. It was very busy on Sunday afternoon, with many enjoying the sunshine on the outdoor patio. Food is clearly the mainstay of this chain pub (Village Inns). But they did have Loch Lomond 60 Shillings and Harviestoun Natural Blonde on. Nice for the location alone.

Had a couple of visits last week, nice clean and tidy place with some nice fixtures both inside and out . Standard range for beers, with some nice local ales on offer also. Another pub that seems more set up for eating, with most tables laid for food, not beer. Staff seemed nice and friendly and I was served promptly. good pub.

Doh... previous review was for a different place and had two browsers open. Cant delete reviews - so set for removal.

Chain pub, too busy to be fitted in for food... popped in for a pint on way back from where I did eat.

Nowt special.

I stayed here.... looking for somewhere to be based for an ascent on Ben Lomond, that was centrally located for entertainment. Nice to see a pub put some effort into entertainment. A band on in the bar below and a night club attached to the side. There was nothing for it.... Sopranos DVD off, best shirt on, lets through some goretex clad shapes.

Nice staff at breakfast.

always ok, Ale served far too cold though. Food is usually pretty good.

Doing food and accommodation, I suspect this pub derives a fair amount of its revenue catering to tourists visiting Loch Lomond (adjacent). So beer prices are higher here than elsewhere locally.

That said, the beer is in good condition with two or three real ales on offer and I have no complaints. A nice spot for a refreshing drink after a walk along the lochside.

There's an excellent fish & chip shop over the road, so I go to the pub for the beer, the chipper for fish & chips... It's not rocket science!

Railway station, bus station each 100 yds or so distant.

Me and my wife spent a few days in Balloch so we decided to go for dinner in this pub/restaurant. Beer was nice and chilled, big sized establishment. Food was nothing special. Toiletsare upstairs which confuses people. I would recommend popping in for a pint but would give the food a miss.
