I quite liked this Vintage Inn. The pond or lake at the back gives it some character. The bar staff haven't got a clue, I hope weights and measures don't show up, there will be issues! I asked for my pint to be in a straight glass, the bar person started pouring into a glass that didn't look to be a pint. I asked her and she replied 'no it holds just under a pint'!!!! I fear a bit of training on the law needs to take place!!! I'd drop in again, just keep an eye on which glass their serving you your 'pint' in!!

Saved by the fact that it is on a pleasant unnatural 'lake', this 'vintage inn' is about as vintage as Birmingham Shopping Centre. Vintage Inns of course, is a chain and the faux countryside look and poor quality new world wines in cases with the books and library tiresome look abounds. Dull as ...well let's say...'lakewater'....that said...there are couple of ales on tap here and the interesting custom of making your walk up the raised part of the pub to use a card and walk down again....get the beer and get outside to the bolted-down seats outside...if it's not bucketing down with rain of course....a generous alezilla 5 for the potential to relax with water...

There is no avoiding the fact that the pub has a slight "chain" feel to it because it is a part of the vintage inns chain. Having said that it is big, clean and has a nice ambience as well as some nice ales (including Doombar - yum). The food is okay and usually served quickly and the staff are fantastic with children and adults alike. We have always felt very welcome here and have no problem recommending it as a place to go.

This pub used to be one of my absolute favourite, but lately it has been letting itself down for so many reasons:
Staff! Staff are slow, slow, slow and there never seems to be enough of them, making the service too slow. They don't clear plates quickly enough or engage well with the customers.
Sauces....I personally do not like asking for a sauce, to be handed a dish that has been sitting growing skin for ages, and then forced to take some and then give it straight back...why??
Luckily for this pub the quality of the food makes up for some of its flaws but please sort out the staff!!!

We had a very pleasant lunch here, not too expensive and is the sort of place you could go back to a couple of times a month. Had the fish cakes and loved them. Staff were a little inattentive at times but overall very acceptable. Will go back, beer was good too, although would have been nice to have seen some locally brewed Hampshire beers on Tap!

The pub recently did a real ale night, and have updated the pumps with new ales and guest ales. Last time I was in there they had Adnams Broadside, Timothy Taylors Landlord, Ringwood Best, and a Deuchars guest ale on. Well done the Fishers Pond from a real ale drinker.

Nice pub, with seating area outside by the 'pond'. Gets busy on warm days. Not bad selection of ales with Ringwood, London Pride,6X, and Fortyniner the choice to be had. The only thing I don't like is the recently installed fruit and quiz machine, which looks a bit out of place to my mind.
