Dropped in for something to eat and was "greeted" by an very rude staff member, waving a Q code board at us, and saying you must scan this to order. When our companion said she didn't have a smart phone, and asked what to do. He said if you
don't like it you can clear off. Avoid. Gave it a 1, as you can't give a zero.

This is a very good pub, no issues with the beer, indeed I thought it was great, I love an IPA. Nice clean pub with a good outside seating area opposite the beach, I have drunk in virtually every pub in Exmouth and this is as good as any, and certainly better than some

Definately a food pub.
Good value menu with a wide choice of dishes.
Staff friendly and despite being busy, service was good.
Not much choice in the way of Real Ales.
I had the Old Speckled Hen which was acceptable.
Large outside area in the front to sit in.
Pub seemed to empty out very quickly once people had eaten.
Decor was a little shabby and dirty plates / glasses could have been cleared quicker.

Just a bog standard Greene king pub in a chavvy area.

Having said that it is still worth popping in for food occasionally as it
is reasenably priced.

Not great if you like individuality though and a poor selection of real ales.

6/10

We have just returned from 8 days holiday in Exmouth (the fifth year running). We ate at the The Bath House every night. The new landlords, Sharon and Martin have totally turned the pub round since moving in. The food is superb as is the atmostphere. All the staff work extremely hard and are very pleasant and friendly. Fathers Day was booked solid and we had to reserve a table 3 nights running to ensure a table. What a delight to find an old fashioned pub where all the staff treat the customers as special and give an excellent service. Complement to all, in particular, Sharon and Martin who work so hard (it seemed like they were there 24/7) to ensure we, the customer, were happy and content. We wish them every success.

this place has seriously gone to the dogs over the years ,used to live in exmouth and in the summer as the deer leap i would quite happily score this a 9/10 since Greene king took over the place has got very run down, the service is mediocre, the toilets rank, the pub sign has been missing for months, the clientele is chav infested, the beer dull with no ales other than gk and not overly cheap, and worst of all the the beer patio today resembles a land fill site the amount of rubbish littering the wooden decking, and call me cynical but the last two glowing reviews that look that have been copy and pasted from a Greene king corporate website were written by "members" who have been on and recorded reviews only for here and joined last month!5/10 and only just due to its location, very sad

Since the new landlord moved in this pub has improved 100%!!! The atmosphere is great, the staff friendly (and easy to talk to) and the food is brilliant!

I regularly go there now both in my own time and when at work (I'm a care worker and the guys I assist enjoy eating out and going out for a cuppa etc).

Highly recommend it for anyone who wants a good time out in a friendly atmosphere!

After finding out the Bath House was under new management we decided to give it a try after a previous bad experience, and I must say it this time around it was a pleasure to eat there. We were made to feel welcome as soon as we stepped inside, we were greeted immediately by friendly staff. The meals were beautifully cooked and the staff were both polite and efficient. All of this combined with a fantastic location with views of the seafront.

To those of you who have had a previous bad experience at the Bath House, I would like to say give it another try as it is rapidly on the up-rise with new managers, new chefs and new staff. For those who have not eaten there before, ignore the bad press as the pub seems to have changed for the better in the past couple of months. I would definitely recommend eating here.

I had the misfortune of eating in the Bath House on Sataurday the 3rd of July and it was, quite frankly, the worse steak I have ever been served, coupled with diabolical service. My medium rare steak arrive well done, with cold overcooked chips and rather dodgy looking peas and half a wrinkled mushroom and tomato. I asked for it to be redone, along with my friends and expressly requested the entire meal be recooked and not just the steak. It eventually came back with a new steak but again far too overcooked to be called medium rare and the chips and veg were the same ones that had initially been served, albiet even colder and more foul. Considering the price of the food, I wasn't expecting anything amazing but it vile. So bad in fact, I feel compelled to write my first internet review in the vain hope it may prevent some other poor person from wasting their money in this pittiful place. They clearly could not care less about quality of food or customer service and make most of their business on the passing holiday trade. My advice to anyone who may be visiting Exmouth is to keep well clear of this place and visit any number of other pubs or restaurants in town.

Last time I visited this was called the Deer Leap.
I think the change of name has dragged it down.
Dirty, slow service, probably due to the bar staff having to put up with a drunk too far gone to speak or think clearly.
The mode of dress required, appears to be a neck tatoo and long dirty shorts. The whole place smelt of greasy food and toilets.

The IPA was O.K. tho. and the staff tried to cope, although all seemingly appeared to be about twelve years old.

What a disapointment for a pub in such a good location.

I will award a two just for the pint.

What to say, well its a detached sea front, Green King, pub/restaurant, with cream and green exterior and beer patio

The interior has the central bar and open plan look, with the reddish and white walls, with some wood panel. There are some old pictures dotter about, but the place looks tired. There was a tv with Capt Nemo film on, along with subdued music. Service was ok, clientele mixed.

Beer; tap stuff, with GK IPA, Abbotts and Spekky Hen, which was a bit lifeless.

I really wouldn't waste the time again

After a revisit to this pub in March 09 I have to say that after traveling to many Countries and eating in hundreds of dodgy eating establishments they managed to produce the worst plate of inedible food I have ever seen.
I was totally unaware that chicken could reach a density that a fork would be unable to pierce it, plus the stunningly unattractive presentation managed to completely take away any hints of hunger I had.
I will never eat there or even visit again and can only recommended it to someone whom urgently needs to lose weight.

went to this pub friday 20th march, it was 20 minutes late opening
it is advertised on the door that food is available from twelve o'clock.Ten past twelve we attempted to order food only to be told it would not be available for another fortyfive minutes due to the fact that the pub had just received a big delivery. What kind of pathetic excuse is this?also staff miserable and it seemed as if customers were treated as an inconvenience.

Strangely enough I too went to this pub on the same day as 'Lyons' but at about 5pm and found the pub busy and well run. I had a meal which was fine and the service was very good, in fact so good that I commented to the bra staff on the way out.

FOOD APALLING, SHAME LOVELY LOCATION, USED TO BE A VERY GOOD VENUE, BUT SEEMS TO HAVE GONE DOWN IN QUALITY, STAFF DID NOT SEEM VERY INTERESTED, WANTED TO HIDE CREMATED CHIP, WHICH WAS HANDED BACK TO THE CASHIER, AND WAS HIDDEN BY THE TILL - FRANK WAS TOLD TO BE HUSHED.....ABOUT CUSTOMERS OVERHEARING THE CONVERSATION. WILL NOT BE GOING BACK FOR FOOD. PERHAPS A PINT!
