Called in for lunch today and had a lovely roast and a couple of good pints of Late Red, didn't notice any guest ales but a good range of Shepard ales.

Staff were friendly as were the locals, watched the Rugby in the public bar by the open fire.

Really nice friendly village pub with a good atmosphere. The beer which i tried was Master Brew which went down very well. The food was also very enjoyable.

Great place, stayed there a few weeks ago. The hotel was perfect, comfy and quiet nice clean bathrooms. Pub has a great atmosphere full of a mix of locals and travelers alike, the staff are really friendly, even chatted to the landlady who has just taken over making lots of changes to the place, is looking really good. Whole place was lovely, (definitely order the wexford mushrooms - delicious!) really great atmosphere definitely worth a visit!

The castellated frontage makes the place more imposing as you approach than it actually is when you go in. A friendly enough village local with reasonable beer. The Spitfire was okay on this visit.

This is a fabulous pub, with food to die for - the fire warmed and made a cosy atmosphere, good wine list, great location with easy parking and we will certainly be eating at this delightful and friendly pub again. Everythng was well cared for and much appreciated by the many customers.

We found The Woolpack to be friendly, had a good atmosphere with a really good log fire. The beer was spot on and the meals we had in the restaurant were much better than expected and also better than some of the "trendy" places in not so far away Whitstable.

I ate and drank in the Woolpack twice during my holiday, based in Chilham. The food is ok and the beer is ok. The staff are friendly enough. But there is no atmosphere. The second time I came in here was only because the White Horse on the Square in Chilham does not do food on a Sunday night. So I ate in the Woolpack and walked back up to drink in the White Horse which has much more atmosphere.

So, to sum up, the Woolpack is an ok pub, but isn't the best in the village.

Beer OK bar food OK.

A bit expensive and no atmosphere.

At the end of the day a typical brewery managed pub.

OK, it's a Shepherd Neame pub, but the ale's OK.
Whilst the restaurant was reasonably full, the bar had no one in it but me and my drinking pal. That's not "not many". That's "no one at all". We arrived at 9pm to an empty bar, and sat there for half an hour with just us two and the foxy barmaid.
I can't help but wonder how these places make their money.

Large building with small bar area. More of a hotel and a restaurant than pub - the bar feels like a hotel bar. Masterbrew and Spitfire served in excellent condition.
