Nice place both inside and out.

The place is smart and the food is decent, certainly not a boozer of a pub but worth going to for a decent meal.

8/10

Standing on the main road between Newton Abbot and Torquay, this is more of a restaurant than a pub. The place was dong a roaring trade on a Sunday afternoon but the clientele were here for the food. I'm not sure anyone comes here to have a few pints. There are three handpumps serving Otter, Jail Ale and Tribute. The food was excellent, though.

It's not my idea of a pub - it's an eatery on a big scale, and you wouldn't really go there unless you were planning to have a meal. But the fact that such a big place is nearly always full of happy eaters testifies to the fact that the food IS good. The carvery is a big attraction, but if you don't like that, there's a good choice of well cooked food, served by friendly and efficient staff. And actually the beer's well kept too.
Not my kind of place - but it obviously and justifiably is for lots of others.

Better inside than out. From outside it looks like a big chain pub. Inside it was heaving, we stopped and had a carvery. Very Good. Nice pint of Otter. Nice roadside pub

I always dine at this pub on my way from Reading to Brixham. I love it. I have only eaten from the carvery so can't comment on any other dishes on the mains menu. The choice of vegetables is extensive and the amount of meat given is generous. It does get crowded and there are two sittings on a Sunday but it is well worth it. The table settings look attractive and the staff are courteous and efficient. The sweet trolley is to die for!

Quite impressed with this one. Large bar and dining area with a carvery and salad bar. Otter and Bombadier beers and an extensive menu. No complaints about the food or the service but I imagine that it gets a bit hectic at the weekends.
