Charming village pub with a good choice of beers and an excellent menu. Staff were friendly and efficient and the food came quickly and was very good indeed. Would certainly come again. Incidentally Montie49 if you think £3.20 is dear for Carling then don't come to Brighton - it was more than that even two years ago!

A lively pub with a good atmoshere.
Perfectly situated in the village near to the railway station and the front beer
garden catches the early evening sun great.
My pint of carling was ok but at �3.20 a little on the dear side. 9/10

A group of friends and I took our babies for lunch in this pub yesterday to celebrate mothers day and despite being welcomed into the pub, the landlady waited until we had finished our lunches to rudely tell us that we were not welcome back because the locals (and herself) didn't like our children. Our babies are all 8 months old and really did not cause any offence to other diners. I found the landlady to be highly rude and offensive and this pub should not claim to be 'family friendly'. Our day was ruined.

At last we have landlords in this pub who keep a decent pint, know what they are doing, and look likely to stay more than a year! Sue has really turned the Swan around in the past year - after a succession of disastrous managements it is now a successfull family run pub.
Occasionally gets too busy for its own good, but a long wait to be served (or for your food) is now quite rare, rather then the norm which it once was.
Good selection of real ales always in good nick. Occasional music and other "events".

It appears that new owners have taken over since visiting last year. The pub still has the best situation in the village, but is definately not as welcoming as it once was. The kids loved playing on the pool table while we had a drink, but that seems to have gone. It wasn't overally clean, smelling of dog and the staff were in my opinion quite rude at times. We didn't stay to eat, everything was a little too creamy for our liking. We went to the Globe

Visited this afternoon after walking along the new footpath from Exmouth. Sat in the nice beer garden in front and enjoyed the sun (rare event this year!!) Lovely pint of Bass, but the Mrs. thought the Shandy was a little too sweet. Food selection looked good.

Great pub, excellent service and the meals are the best we have had for a long time! try the seafood platter!

Nice pub just seconds walk from the railway station. Nice beer patio and bbq area in the front, with various real ales being served including Otter and Old Speckled Hen. 8/10
