And now it's Re-closed! You had to be quick to catch the Vineyard...A pity, as it was a good value pub, Pity it could no shake it's Baracuda image in some minds...

Has re-opened as The Vineyard. The food's pretty good and well priced. but the people of Alty don't seem to know about it or they're all in Hale as it's dead quiet most of the time but no idiots anymore thank god. Not sure who owns it now but ten times better than Barracuda.

Appears to be close to reopening as 'The Vineyard'.

the jackyl & hyde of bars,

go in during the day and its nice and pleasent with good friendly bar staff and the place smells nice

go in after 8pm and the place gets packed out with drunk kids and to make matters worse the bar staff suddenly develop bad a attitude

Smart layout but sour-faced staff don't help the cause.

Went in for food and was pleasantly surprised. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, good meal. Owners have got over Litten Tree legacy. Will return.

This place is still getting slagged off due to the reputation of the former Litter Tree/Mar Med! Its not them any more. The owners of 'The Barracuda' are doing a great job. Any trouble that does happen, happens when people leave the bar-and is generally caused by riff-raff who havn't even been in there - who wouldn't even get in there. I have been in on SEVERAL Friday nights now - and not one bit of trouble!I've always had a good night. Its good for lads as normally the girls out number the lads 2 - 1! There are usually alot of pretty girls in here too. Seriously! Bar Staff could be a little friendlier though. I personally can't fault the door staff - they seem very professional - and have always been friendly with me! (I've only ever seen them be 'aggresive' towards scallies! Which is fair play!) Defo worth going in and checking out if out and about in Alty.

Went in here on Saturday. Bouncers were very aggressive. Definitely one to avoid.

Think I would rather do a tour in Baghdad than a Friday night in this dive.
BigJapp2 - 19 Dec 2006 02:47
They were showing egg chasing instead of footy yesterday! Pathetic.

Doesn't matter how many times this place changes hands or is renamed, it'll still be somewhere to avoid

It's full of thiefs. I got my jacket stolen when i went in there sat night. Unless you want your stuff stolen then i wouldn't recommend going in there. It's not a very classy place either. Full of scally scroats and slags!!!

No real ales, but has Sky sports. Can't believe my rating (3) is going to raise the average!

It's nicely furnished inside, just a shame that it's a magnet for the scallies and ne'er do wells.

Had some food in here on the afternoon of Sunday 6 August 2006. The food itself was OK, but the young lad serving us was coughing openly, there was only one person on, and he wasn't polite either. We managed to get a table in the corner away from the scallies (adult and young). The table was sticky - usual moan here about not cleaning or clearing tables. Then a group of young men came in and sat in a corner, why do people thinking it's acceptable to yelp and holler randomly in a pub? We left and won't go back here again.

Is this really an improvement??

Now open as Barracuda bar - it's just The Litten Tree with new decor, fighting is still happening
