user reviews of the Notte Inn, Plymouth

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Pub has closed a couple of times and had a couple of different names too.

It is now however back as the original named Notte inn and our visit was a good one too.

The pints were very cheap in here when we visited (around £2.00!) although I believe that it has gone up since then.

This is a traditional Plymouth boozer and long may it remain.

8/10

localal the bar maids you mentioned have sadly both left the notte inn now. unfortunatly the pub has deteriorated rapidly it is not a pub to be recommended the staff are unpleasant at best they no longer serve food and the whole atmosphere of the place is very uneasy there are many great pubs in plymouth but this is not one of them

The best looking and friendliest bar maids (especially the new petite blonde one) in Plymouth. Great service with a smile and the real ale and wine choices are great. A petty it's not slightly wider (the pub that is, not the barmaid). Has it just been taken over by a new land lady?

Must agree with Jay28 - I returned to The Notte after a fairly long abscence, and overcame initial disappointment to become pleasantly surprised. I had a cracking pint of Summerskills on gravity from the barrel behind the bar. The girl serving me was very pretty and very pleasant.

There always seems to be a character or two at the bar who will regale you with seafaring tales of the Plymouth of old (whether you want them to or not).

I empathise with 'anonymous' from Aug 2006 - I recall a bearded chap from some time ago - I believe he was the Manager - and he was, to put it mildly, abrasive...basically if you didn't agree with his point of view, right or wrong, he'd publicly shoot you down in flames.

He's gone, and the pub is good, give it a go.

As an occasional visitor to Plymouth I used to go in the Notte Inn in the early 90's and it was a real spit and sawdust back street boozer packed out with local characters and serving a good pint of ale.

Went back recently and was disappointed to see it had been totally refurbed in a kind of "wine bar" style. However, I was quite pleasantly surprised by the nice ale straight from the cask served by the drop-dead gorgeous girls behind the bar. Fell into conversation with a group of blokes drinking at the bar and had a thoroughly good evening.

The standard of food was unacceptable and the service was even worse.
we made a polite complaint about the unwashed salad, and the fact that our side dishes were placed on a dirty bar stool next to the table. we were met by an agressive, hostile and unacceptabe response from the manager.
I was appalled by the manager shouting to us in the restaurant and disturbing other customers.
Going around every table and disclosing the nature of our complaint to other customers and demanding their opinion in order to make a scene is disgraceful behaviour and unprofessional.
I do not reccommend the notte Inn.

had a great time enjoying a wide selcetion of food which was fab. The staff reaaly add to the great atmosphere and many people in the party had not been before but have all pledged to return.

Good ale,and very high quality food. The jukebox however could do with some new records.
