I have recently been saddened to see Lou leave The Sow and Pigs and disgusted as to how and why she had to leave. This pub has changed hands many times and Lou did an amazing job, making it a pleasure to drink and eat in. She has unwillingly and reluctantly left, due to someone "who thinks they can do a better job" of running it!
In my opinion, and also others that drink in this lovely village pub, this will NOT be the case and the brewery have made a stupid mistake.
Such a shame... bring back Lou!!!

Having lived in the area for over five years, it's only since Lou's arrived that we started using the Sow & Pigs regularly. A welcoming atmosphere, in a quaint local, which is now spotlessly clean, means enjoying a quality pint. Strangers & locals alike get the same great welcome, but regulars get a bit more of the banter! Though a small food menu is available: various types of burgers, chilli nights and more recently Sunday roasts (pre-order) reflects the size of the pub, all produce is locally sourced. Not a real ale drinker, I'm informed that the ale is kept impeccably. Keep up the good work, Lou.

Visited here Saturday lunchtime and received friendly welcome.
Enjoyed very tasty burgers - lamb and mint yummy! We were informed that all food served here is locally sourced which is a bonus point. Disappointed we would not be around for the Sunday roast!

Eight very hungry and weary Silver Cyclists arrived unannounced for lunch and had an extremely warm welcome in this homely, spotlessly clean pub where there is a very friendly and helpful landlady. The burgers were very good, nothing was too much trouble - and she even managed to undo a jammed bike lock! Great service!

Back on track, I reckon. The new manager is running a tight ship now. Beers, food and entertainment are all good quality and the pub is clean. I'm in here more and more, just can't help it!
A fine example of an old traditional locals boozer. Very welcoming, and good prices.

Ventured to this pub on a Monday night as had been recommended by some friends that live in the area. Quite quaint, with and a very friendly atmosphere. We were a party of 4 and had drinks (Great draught Brakspears!) first before deciding on dinner later on having seen the very tempting offerings that had been coming out of the kitchen throughout the evening! Good variety on the burger menu and reasonably priced. Food was really tasty, well presented and good portion sizes. Really enjoyed it and would definetely head back.

Great village pub. Great new landlady, Lou. Hope she does well there. A pub in a quiet location and quite a gamble to take on but it is a VERY well kept pub and very clean.

Large collection of full/empty beer bottles adorn the walls. If you want them, make Lou an offer!
