First post for this place for nearly 8 years!
We visited on a Sunday afternoon and the place was dead which is the way us oldies like it.
Thought it was cheapish for drinks but was expecting it to be cheaper.
Ordered a bbq chicken melt and it was only just passable knew it was gonna be a risk here though.
This would be a great pub for a student going out with all their mates, but it just is not a good place to have a meal in.

5/10

Purchasing a yellow card will entitle you to discounts, but I would avoid buying one, because on the rare occasion you really do want to do the 'cheap student' thing, you can always borrow your mates. The pub isn't good enough to merit buying a loyalty card

bad food, but good cheap drinks and friendly student staff- worth a visit

Great pub, for about the first week of term before all the fit threshers discover there are better bars or go to destiny's (ick).

very average all round

This pub is right in the middle of a large group of student halls. In that respect it is a good place to meet a few people and get your social life going. Cheap drinks are also very handy for most first year students !

Listen boys and girls, if you can find a pub where the management put so much love into it then i would be impressed!!! We work damn hard to make this a great place and for the love of God we love drinking there, so up yours is it a bad place. Its an awesome place and if you can find anywhere where people give more of a toss about it being spot on then let me know!

the roundabout is the nicest pub near the uni campus! its got a really nice atmosphere, the deals are good and everyone goes there to have a good time. be careful of the bad karaoke singers!

This pub is brilliant - especially if you're at uni! The staff are really friendly and if you get a yellow card the drinks are extremely reasonable! Watch out for drinks for 1 on tuesdays and bulldozers on a thursday! Its a great place to start your night out on the town and would highly recommend it to anyone! Im only a fresher at the moment but im looking forward to spending many evenings down at the roundabout for the next three years!

Well, Frodo, it's a good job that they did "rip everything out that is original" in this case, because before it was a Scream pub, it was a driving school office. Not really ideal surrounds to get a beer, even if it is only a quid.

Just finished uni in Plymouth and one of the things I will miss the most of the three years is going to the roundabout with all my mates. The staff are all really friendly and nothing beats witching an England game there. My favourite of the scream bars i have been to. long live pound a pint.

This pub is great and I have lived in it for most of my time at Uni. If you enjoy a good student atmsophere, then this is the pub for you. The staff are good laugh and the service is always good. During the day you can get the classic "full-of-fat" scream burger, which is the perfect hangover cure in my opinion!!! In the evening it is always full of students, due to the many themed nights...that and cheap alcohol. Highly recommend it to anyone.

I'm getting too old for shit like this. It's a glorified youth club - ie: it's a student bar. I can say this because I was once a student but I never felt the need to go drinking in some student only hangout. We made our own entertainament we did. Off to the Cricketers on Richmond Green on a Tuesday night for pound a pint with the locals. Fought in the war for you lot we did....
Good for: The modern (read: upper middle-class) student.

Very very nice during the day, can get a cheap meal and a cheap pint. Evenings and nights, esp. Friday/Saturday, it is packed and you're better off going to the Duchess or the Nowhere.
