please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

What a shame... the owners clearly are putting in a load of effort... and sitting outside are a bunch of teenagers pissed out of their skulls seeing who can shout swear word the loudest.
I won't be going back; won't be recommending anyone else does...

Visit Dymchurch regularly to visit my daughter, son-in-law and grandkids. Always pop into "The City". Know many of the locals and I am always received enthusiastically by both staff and locals. (It's nice not being a grockle), The beer is great, service with a smile and good hearted chat and banter. Recommend to anyone who has never been.

The city of London is a pub worth visiting, the owners and staff are so warm and friendly, I went in and had a fillet steak cooked on grillstones just the way I liked it and have now been back every week since, I also took my 3 children in this week and they were warmly welcomed too. You can have fillet, rump or sirloin steak as well as chicken or for the more daring swordfish or shark!! They also have a good variety of other meals and a specials of the day board. I would rate The City Of London 10/10 and is defintly the best pub in the area for a good reasonable priced pub dinner.

Also, to add to my previous review the sign writting and drawings around the pub are fantastic. It gives a brief history of the pub and the local area (Dymchurch). Credit to Graham and Pam.

What a pleasant surprise my group and I had when we visited The City Of London pub on Sunday. This was our first visit to this pub in about 3 years and WOW, what a transformation.

The current owners, Graham and Pam were so welcoming and the staff were very efficient and catered to our every need.

The food was superb (we all had something different) I'd give the Sunday Roast 10 out of 10. The beer was also well looked after.

WELL WORTH A VISIT.

***Sports Bar***

City of London is the re-opened and re-vamped Sports Bar of Dymchurch, Kent.

After years of closure we decided to open up the City of London for the locals and tourist trade of Dymchurch and surrounding areas.

Our aim is to give the area a sports bar that shows all major sporting activities including FIFA 2010 World Cup and all other sporting events available on a huge projected screen and plasmas.

During the quieter sporting months we will show music concerts old and new.

***Grill stones restaurant***

Underneath the sports bar is a quiet and unique grill stones restaurant, what is grill stones? I hear you ask well....

Our special stones are made from some of natures finest materials, we heat them in our oven to over 300 degrees and then this allows you to cook your food exactly as you like and the last bite will be as hot and delicious as the first. The high temperature of the stone grill method sears the product faster and cooks in the natural juices and nutrients, enhancing the full flavor and tenderness of food. This unique dry cooking method uses no oil or added fat. It ensures a clean and completely natural flavor that is not achievable with other cooking methods.

In other words it tastes delicious.

The pub its self is a piece of local history. The current landlord though (as at the date of this post) is a different matter.

His name is Colin and he is currently in the process of scamming anyone and everyone he comes across. He recently bounced a cheque on me for 320. You may notice the flat screen TV is missing.... well I have taken that in order to settle this debt. He also claims to be opening the Moorhal pub in Cheriton. Well at the moment the lone young barman is selling its furniture on the street in front of the pub to raise enough money to buy food as he has not been paid for sometime.

DO NOT PROVIDE THIS SCUM WITH ANY CREDIT FACILITES!!!!!!!!!!!!

Excuses for non payment range from changing bank accounts to having to transfer money from his offshore account! He will also request your bank details in order for him to tranfer any funds owed by bank transfer. DO NOT GIVE THESE TO HIM. Yo may find you have a tranfer out of your account rather than in!!
