Asked if they serve food at lunch time and told there is a wide variety of crisps! This is a friendly locals' pub. and a real gem. Pint of Harveys was good. Looks as though little has changed in the last few decades other than the carpet. Won't be to everyone's taste but for those who prefer real pubs with a great atmosphere, it's a must visit.

Dived out of here as soon as i'd opened the door as I thought i'd wandered into somebody's living room after a three-night party...now i've been told its ok so I will be back for another look- especially if they have poetry on. Stank though.

on my crawl from steyning to beeding i was luck enough to be told about this little gem just off the high street, and what a fantasic place it is reminds me of how pubs used to be the beer was so good i stayed for three which made the rest of my crawl slightly harder one bar is dedicated to the local rugby team who were incredibly friendly and having lots of fun without the over the to policing some landlords seem obsessed with. an absolute must if your in the area

I wandered in here at 6.30 to see a bar covered in glasses, God i said have i just missed everybody as the bar was empty, ah no said she behind the bar, these are from lunch. Fair enough no panic, no to many customers either, still friendly enough and tried some bottled beers from a little brewery across the road . Not bad but dont go there during lunch it might be busy although that may that weeks lunch

Not a bad old pub this, bit spit and sawdust but the land lady is friendly and so are the locals, beer is also cheap and tasty.

I think this pub is just fo rhtose in the know - I went there once with a friend visiting from London and it was like stepping back in time Mary Poppins! I think the Norfolk Arms is a bit like Marmite - love it or hate it (I love marmite but...........!) Booze is cheap there though and last New Year they had a ticket only 35 no barman help yourself to whatever night! Probably great fun if there's a great big crowd of you!

We went for a drink here on Saturday and it was great. Yes it is a local's pub but they were all friendly and the guy behind the bar was very chatty. As I understood things the landlord/landlady have just bought the pub from Punch Taverns and everyone was delighted for them.

The Harvey's was nice.

Appeared like a locals pub. Not sure what it was like inside.

I visited this pub for the first time yesterday and found it to be a nice friendly little pub.

We sat in the garden, which is overgown and untidy, but the dog enjoyed rooting around and chased off the local cats.

Had a couple of pints of very good Harveys.

There are two bars, one currently only used at the weekends and is a sort of club house for the local rugby team. The main bar is very cosy and covered in old pictures. It is a bit of a throwback to the 1940's and very pleasant with it. The barman was chatty and it is a place where I imagine the locals enjoy lots of friendly banter.

It is an old style country village pub that has retained its character and serves excellent beer.

The pub itself is has fantastic potential and thrived 10 or more years ago, but the present landlord has run this place down over the years, its not the cleanest pub in Steyning, if you see the landlord do any work try to capture it on film!!

This really is the locals' local... two small bars, toilets so cold you can see your breath, and no food served throughout most of the year. HOWEVER, if you stick with it you will come to see that it really is a diamond in disguise. There may not be a large selection on offer (Harveys Sussex and Pride) but the beer is exceptionally well kept, the atmosphere is always nice, and every sunday during the winter everyone is served roast potatoes and parsnips and cheese and biscuits on the house. Not many like that these days! They also do food nights on special occasions during the year, such as christmas and valentines - the christmas do makes for a brilliant night and the food is superb - proper man sized helpings of well cooked pub grub. definately not a pub for those looking for good views, or those with children, but if you like your beer the old fashioned way, it comes highly recommended.
