A fairly ordinary but pleasant place, with some well-kept beer. Food is, as has been said, fairly average. Worth a stop, but not a detour. 6/10

Popped in here on NYE for a beer before the main event...pleasantly surprised to have a low-key evening with a band who played hackneyed numbers but were unimposing- nice...spacious and no crowds and demand that we pay an extortionate entrance fee a la Greedy King....3 ales, although uninspriring, but included a Sussex at least....not bad at all

Pub situated close to Bramber Castle. This proved an ideal spot for some lunch and a drink on a Sunday afternoon. Plenty of real ales on, including the Sussex Bitter which was fine. Plenty of food advertised, although the food is somewhat disappointing. Worth a visit if in the area.

Pretty nice country pub by the castle. Good ale range, food is up and down.

this is a lovely location and neat pub near bramber castle. 3 real ales and good sussex bitter, worth a go if cycling or walking nearby, food is average only.

A local's pub - very shoddy decor, but cheap booze and always a good atmosphere. The bar staff are always helpful and make conversation - in fact, so do all the clientelle! Refreshing in the south of England!

Disappointing visit with the locals looking around as people go in an order food. I don't like the idea of stalls around the bar area which simply block the way - can't these old gits grap a proper table.

Nice garden, beer OK, food bland and overpriced for what it is. When my friend complained about her watery, tasteless chicken with rice dish, no-one came out to follow up on it or apologise. Not the way to ensure return visits.

Has improved. Harveys Sussex bitter and London Pride are ales on.

Nice pub. Can be a long wait for food. But thats ok. Spacious both inside and outside and a car park as well.

Good location near Bramber Castle.

Also a good place to sit outside in excellent weather, can be a longish wait for food however.

This pub is a lot better at growing flowers than keeping real ale.
It looks fantastic and has over the years won local best garden type awards.
However the landlord is known to be rude to customers and beer is not cheap.
