please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Forgot to mention my surprise at a previous reviewer " solo" I think they must have either gone to a different pub... or maybe not visited at all !!
After all they only live in the local area, after seeing their review on another pub in the area, I am sure they wouldn't have been holidaying in the village !!

Great Pub, really enjoyed our evening here, the food was to die for, and well, what can I say about the homemade puddings ??? So much choice and as much clotted cream as I wanted. This is what Devon Pubs are all about !
Can't wait to return in the winter and sit by the massive open fire that fills the bar area

Well, what a change! This pub when under different management a couple of years back was really disappointing but what a turnaround now.

Great food, great drinks, service with a smile and a really warm friendly atmosphere.

We turned up on a quiz night and as there were only the two of us didn't think we could play until some of the locals invited us on their team. No, we didn't win this time but were invited back so who knows?

If you are looking for a local pub, steeped in tradition and the best of everything, you won't be diasppointed in the Globe Inn.

Stayed in beaford in a holiday cottage for the weekend, thought we would go to the local pub for a meal and few drinks. What a mistake we made the service was really bad the bar staff did not seem to want to be there, the locals made us feel we should not be in their pub as for the food we should have gone to a well know fast food place as it would have been a lot better quality for half the price.. my advice DONT GO THERE.

A decent enough place in a quiet corner of Devon.
Good to see a place open all day and food all day too.
We were in the pub for nearly two hours and couldn't quite believe that in the whole time we were in there we did'nt see another soul and this was a saturday afternoon in the summer!
The prices for all the drinks (i tried a few!) were very good indeed one of the cheapest around.
People should use this pub more often as village pubs like this are struggling to survive.

10/10

I think now the pub is back on track, called in last week, which I believe was the first week for the new landlord. Such a warm welcome, smile behind the bar and a huge log fire. We were so happy to be offered food all day, which was very good, tasty, quick and hot. A wide menu and I had a great pint of Doom Bar !! Shall be back again soon as it suits us to have a car park. Well done !

staff ignorant..waiting on my own at the bar for 40 mins. no drinks offered.finally got food a hour later..was awful..overcooked and cold..beer not kept well. and wine not much better..would really recommend you stay away..fine pubs with good atmosphere 5 mins either way in winkleigh and torrington.

We have now tried the food and it really was very basic pub grub and not very good at all. Nobody else in there eating or drinking and we were often left alone in the bar so we couldn't order additional drinks.

On a brighter note, the blue lights outside were very nice.

New to the area, we have found a few shining gems but this is not one of them I am afraid. The beer not very well kept so we switched to wine but we might go back and try the food as the menu looked fine. Perhaps a handy place for dinner after work although nobody was eating when we visited. Somewhat lacking in atmosphere for an old village pub and the modern furniture looked a bit incongruous.

Had a very enjoyable evening, pub is clean and staff welcoming, food much better then the run of the mill pub food, congratulations to the new licensees

Taken over a few months ago and gone rapidly downhill. Landlady and landlord rude and arrogant. Service appalling and the bar often not attended.

This pub is supposed to have been taken over and will reopen soon. It can't be any worse than it has been, but we must wait and see how much better it will become.

Is this really a pub? Went there on a Saturday and the only customer apart from me bought a mars bar and left! The locals tell me it is often not open at all.
