Used to love this pub. The barmen would start pouring my Heineken when I walked in the door. This was back in the early noughties. Haven't been in for years.

Lager and wine only, so for a real ale drinking couple, we did an about turn and walked straight out again. For the few seconds we were in there, looked comfy enough but really you're better off at the Forester.

Ok, I skipped two pubs on my pub crawl, 1) The Star and Anchor - Great Pub and 2) The Black George - Shit hole to the highest degree. Sorry had to put the reviews here as they are not on this site.

Back to this pub, another pub with bad lager, had a bottle than left. Nothing to write home about

Great quiz on a Monday night, easily the best I've been to in London.
Beer's fine, friendly staff, plenty of newspapers... nice little place.

Hurrah - Jacksons has reopened for business. No tried it yet. Comfy sofas and chairs now tho, so a softer edge than before.

It's been closed down for a few months now.

Unfortunately, it seems that the owner died :-(

Considering the adverts on TV, NatWest may consider buying it and turning it back into a bank (It still looks like a NatWest from outside).

The previous manager and staff (very nice people) now seem to be based in Kew (see Lammas dot com for more details). I must admit, appearances are deceptive and I found the people there to be very friendly and welcoming. Although no real ales were available on tap, they had an extremely large wine/foreign lager list.

Dire. No character, tacky surroundings, it's a local drinking hole full of local people masquerading as a wine bar. have lived minutes away for years and refuse to re-visit.

This bar could have so much potential but is truly dreadful. I have lived in the area 2 years and gone in about 5 times, each time hoping it will be nice, but alas... never. It is cold, bad lighting and totally lacking in character.

... and the food is very good actually!

I don't like 'bars' normally but I don't mind Jacksons. In fact it gets away with murder. The landlords got a moustache but it doesn't look stupid. The floor is covered in a sort of flagstone effect but it doean't leave the place cold and echoey. The ceilings are high and the walls are lightly painted yet the place doesn't seem overtly bright. Clientelle a little.. mature shall we say, but that doesn't stop the place being a good place for a few drinks.
Good for: Quiz night is blast and the prizes are generous too.

Nice bar, not tried food yet but weill, drinks good prices for a wine bar although if you want to safe pennies there's pother ubs nearby. Didn't know about the DJ will go and stray from the usual local to check it out!

Without a doubt a fantastic bar and great place to kick back over a few bottles. Food is even good and reasonably priced. Just a bit different to the usual rowdy pubs in the area.

Filmed 'Snatch' (sequel to Lock,Stock..) partly in here closed bar for week. Most of customers me included left and haven't been back much better cheaper friendlier places - Duffys for example

A converted bank, with a stylish interior. Good selection of wines, beers and shots. Excellent food served daily, quiz nights, televised sports and live DJ on a Thursday night. All major sports screened including Premiership Extra. Well worth a visit!
