i been to this bar and it now is buon amici. admittedly not many of the bars have done well here except radio days due to bein very out of the way.the restaraunt is great upstairs now as it is buon amici which used to be on the collinade christopher place opposite pizza express on verulam road. the restaraunt supports it self very well. the bar how ever is reserverd i think for diners only or special functions. how ever i have heard that this is because it may be going to have a refurb and the existing landlord restaranteer is in the process of relaunching the bar in near future. i will revisit when time is right and post more.
restaraunt 9/10
bar 4/10

I can hardly believe it, but the new Shisha Bar is even worse than its predecessors! The bar staff don't seem to know the difference between lager and cider, there is a ridulous lack of tables and chairs, and last night they took my money for a drink then 5 minutes later asked me to leave because a private function would be starting soon! (There was no notice about that on the door, and the bouncers had let me in without saying anything.)
Well, tish and pish! I shan't be back.

The Heritage Bar has closed, and I'm not surprised.
It's been replaced by the Shisha Bar, a Lebanese establishment that supports the restaurant upstairs. However the Shisha only opens 3 evenings per week, so I haven't yet made it past the front door.

Overshadowed in every sense by the restaurant upstairs. I've popped into the Heritage Bar 3 times now, and twice I've been the only customer. Last night I had to drink the dreaded John Smiths (@ 2.50 per pint) because the Courage Best pump "doesn't work", according to the barman. All a bit strange.

This is a very quiet bar during the week. It is set in the beautiful location in the shadow of St Albans Abbey. During the summer their garden really is a lovely place to relax. Serve food from 12pm-2.30pm everyday, and 7.00pm to 10.00pm mon-thur. Weekends here can be lively and there are often djs. Saturdays seem to be especially popular and bank holiday sundays they hold special parties which always seem to be extremely busy. Art deco decor to the bar gives it an unusual look. Restaurant above - Martinis serves fantastic Italian food. Simple wine menu in bar, but can also be served the restaurant wine menu here. Small cocktail list. No real ale which is a shame, but good range of bottles and interestingly they serve San Miguel as one of their largers on tap. Friendly staff too which adds to why I like this place!
