I really like Bairds. I am not a regular, but I go in every now and then when I am down that end of the city for maybe a pint or two. I agree both with the contrasting reviews both posted by brambles and sparky21, but you know what you expect when you go to this place as the pubs folklore in this city and known for what it is. It has all sorts of charachters from all walks of life, but it's a football pub.

I was in a few weeks ago one Saturday afternoon and the live enetertainment was good, the bar was busy as always and the lagers pretty decent. The pub could do with a refurb, but that would only take away some of the charachter. Overall, it's good pub. Also love some of the really old pictures of Celtic they have on the walls. Interesting..

Bairds Bar is no1 in Scotland, it's friendly, good crack the boss Mr Carberry is no1 aswell, and all the sad people that slagged it off, should go else where, you get what you see, the staff are no1.

Unless you're HeIen Keller, you can't help but notice that this is a Celtic pub. Although i'm not a regular by any stretch of the imagination, only going in on the odd occassion when i've got tickets for Parkhead or going to a gig in Barrowlands, i would have to disagree with Sparky21. any time i've been in the locals have been polite and welcoming. Yes the locals get a wee bit carried away when the footie is on, but when i've been in on non match days, I've never seen any of the sectarian stuff mentioned above. i think the moral of his story is just to accept this pub for what it is and don't go telling the regulars that they're bigoted neds. people tend to take offence!

I love this pub. it's a bit like the bar in Star Wars with all the miscreants of the universe all in the one place....but in a good way! if you love people watching and are up for a bit of craic then this is the place for you. if you're looking to impress someone or are looking for a sophisticated night on the town, just keep walking into the Merchant City.
The amount of celtic memorabilia is outstanding, if somewhat tenuous at times; my all time faves are the baby Jesus and Che Guevara with celtic strips on. bizarre but fantastic! defo worth a look!

had the misfortune of going to this pub and was treated like royalty, all except for the man that says what you see and hear in here stays in here and yet he told me all about who does what and why makes me angry that this man slates your city off yet plays the big man when hes in there, tam gilmartin get a life nothing wrong with the folk in there your not a gangster, even your brother says you run when trouble arises

Must be the best pub in Glasgow. No other sports bar could boast of the memoribilia that bedecks its walls.
Good sing song with cheap drink. I took a Rangers fan in and he was made lost welcome.

Was taken in by a friend who used to live in neighbourhood over 20 years ago.Don't go near the place unless you are happy for people to continually ask "what team you support?"
More like Dublin than Glasgow, awful example of what is wrong with Glasgow.
