A warning to those (few) who may be tempted by the takeaway option - 1) The order will not be taken correctly and items will be missing. 2) What you do get will not be cooked properly. 3) You will have to wait up to 40 minutes for the pleasure. Although probably a better option than sitting in-house surrounded by the wobbly tattooed creatures that infest this dump.

ok, so after being fooled by glitzy television adverts I made the mistake of visiting here in the vain hope that it wouldn't suck. Sadly, I was wrong as it was a dreadful visit. The awful soulless chain nature of the brand was immediately obvious. (Just to be clear, I'm not a foodie or a restaurant snob, I didn't expect the Ritz, but I hoped that in the 3 years since the last review that it might have changed). the outside of the place looks like it was shabby in 1990, and has never been revamped since. the tables outdoors are falling apart and filthy. After a lengthy wait for some overpriced soft drinks I had to wait 15 minutes to be seated at one of the several empty tables. the salad cart was tired, but the mains were truly awful. Ribs that are 50% bone and 60% fat, chicken that looks like it's not had a drink in weeks it was so dry, was supposed to be "smothered" in sauce but the only thing covered in a "sticky" anything was the table. The loos were fearful, dirty, proper dirty. The floor swimming in wet, soap that had clearly exploded and a lovely finishing touch of a toilet brush coated thoroughly in *brown* were the highlights. this was a serious mistake to visit, the manager couldn't give a fig, so I don't think I will either. A-V-O-I-D!!!!!!

ok, after the manager, chef and contract cleaners were allegedly sacked i went back on a freebie on request of the area manager. well it's a good job it was a freebie cos' the food was crap ( uncooked steak yet again ) whingeing waiters and waiting staff more interested in getting home than actually serving even though their shift hadn't finished. and it seems that nobody listens to you, asked for half lager for my better half and got a bloody pint, wouldn't have minded but i was driving. so just to sum up, STAY THE HELL AWAY. this place is and always will be ****
sorry forgot to mention, also had one of the staff's son's standing at the bar watching every bite, lovely.
would have rated this pub as a minus but the site won't let you

went to this pub after a yaer away because of poor food and cleanliness and i can tell you absolutely nothing has changed. what more could you want than to go into a restaurant for a meal and have the lovely aroma of the mens urinals invade your nostrils and that is before you have ordered. as the previous customer said, KEEP ON GOING, THERE ARE PLENTY OF OTHER LOCAL EATERIES

Two last two reviews state this place as awful - make that a third. I live reasonably close by and have to say that the abysmal reputation is well earned. It may be a Harvester but that's no excuse for the dried-up or alternatively cold rubbish they churn out here. Been to other Harvesters that are nowhere near this bad and the prices are only slightly less than the many other excellent choices of pubs in the area. I can only think the car-park is used as an overflow for somewhere else because, unbelievably, it always seems full when I drive by!

What an crap place.I know its a Harvester but the food was AWFUL.Only half the menu availible out of alot of drinks too(is the place closing down)if not it should be.
Drive on and find the really good pubs in the local villages.

It's a Harvester, you get what you expect.

The staff are up and down, but I expect that's turnover, never anything wrong with the food. Reasonable bar for those that feel the Good Intent isn't a better bet.
