Rough and ready for Chertsey but a warm welcome. Pub seemed to be in a state of chaos..no gents toilet..! Beer a bit ropey, but the place has a sociable fee..

this pub was not bad at all, loads of little coves and nooks to get half cut in. sky sports on the gogglebox, drinks were a reasonable price, locals aren't too bad neither.. with the exception of this father and son double act that frequent it on the odd occassion, they seem to get barred from every Chertsey pub, the son is i think a hairdressers assistant always shouting about arsenal until he passes out and his dad looks like Telly Savalas's stunt double. they do love their football it has to be respected.

I visited this pub on Sunday. I was quite impressed. At bit of a locals pub, bout not overly so. It was showing football on one tv and F1 on the other. I had Sunday lunch and it was very nice. I am not local to the area (I was visiting the nearby miniature railway) and so I just stumbled across this pub. But i will visit it again when I am next in the area.

Well, I can say the Kings Head is no longer closed down as I was in there yesterday. Felt like a bit of a locals pub, which got quieter as the evening went on. Ok beer with Spitfire and Courage Best the ales on along with the usual mixture of lagers. Were showing the darts on Sky.

Yes the King's Head has finally closed down after going bust. When the new bloke took over, I predicted this would happen and it has. Hopefully whoever takes it over next will turn it back into a decent pub again.

Good to see live music on the menu, but the pub itself is in dire need of a makeover. Gambling machines aplenty and average beer (Courage Best and Abbot).

Used to be the best pub in Chertsey but the new bloke who took over has ruined it. Prices shot up (used to be cheap) and whilst it used to be busy and atmospheric on a Saturday night, it's now dead. Boo.

Very busy when football is on.Food very good, good beer and friendly staff.landlady and landlord,Jim and Anne very nice. This pub was first opened in 1794 and it still has most of its features, which look great.
We can say that this public house has also had plenty of visitors (of the spirit kind) as we are investigating it at the moment.

In response to the previous comment, this is not in fact a Youngs pub
JohnBonser - 12 Jan 2007 12:13
Went into this place for a spot of lunch. As expected being a Young's pub the food was overpriced for what it was. Apart from that its not a bad little boozer but got the impression it gets busy at weekends with sporty types. Also had a cosy decor, seemed to have the original fixtures and fittings what is a nice change as Young's seem to have a habbit of ripping these out and replacing it with white plaster.

OK for a quick pint of ale (Bombadier and Pride on last Monday tasted fine). Otherwise fairly unremarkable really.

Went in when football was on and so was packed. A lot of younger Chavs go in here. The pub itself is very smoky and quite lively. Not sure I'd want to spend all evening in there, but it was fine for a quick pint.
