As per articblonde 2 years ago epic epic fail. Booked at two and got out at 5. If it hadn't been for the coffee machine failing we might have made it out by last orders. To describe this pubs service as a shamble does a real disservice to shambles. Our table wasn't ready when we arrived. That took 15 minutes. There weren't any menus. That took another 5.Then an hour. Kids burger meal was a burger in a bun with nothing and I mean nothing at all in between. We had to ask for ketchup. The pub cannot cope with anything remotely like a rush but oddly enough the chef started bringing out the food even though there were loads of serving staff. I got the right bill on the third try. The second included coffees from the broken coffee machine. I really expected Manuel to tun up shouting fuego. I don't know about the Two Brewers but it would have to be shocking to be the second best pub in Northaw

Visited again but unfortunately the gentleman who appears to be in charge of the floor was not their and the reins being held by a lady socialising at the bar, waited ten mins to finish her gossiping before serving drinks and restaurant service was very poor, waited 15 mins for a menu, 15 mins to order and didn't offer menus for dessert. However food was it's usual fantastic quality. This rating is to reflect the service not the food.

Cant recommend this pub highly enough, beautiful location and loved the garden and interior, was lucky enough to visit on one of the few sunny days weve had this year. Food is excellent, had the skate with clams and capers followed by the lemon tart with strawberry ice cream, all were delicious. To my horror came across the reviews on your website and had to set the record straight. Its a joy to have at last found a pub in this area that serves great British food and beer, not the ding of a microwave to be heard or a pint of mass produced foreign lager to be seen!!! How refreshing. Will definitely be going back.

Epic faiure. Half the menu wasn't available and when my second choice burger eventaually turned up it was a complete let down. Chewy and tasteless.
The staff were not able to cope with what was best described as a small rush.
There have been a couple of good reviews on here, so working on the principle it couldn't get any worse, I will try it again. On the upside the quality of the wines on the list turned out to be a happy event!

It's my birthday today and all I wanted was a nice walk ending in a lovely pub meal. I got what I wanted. We walked along the Hertfordshire We arrived at the Sun ,I'd booked a table. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly, we weren't rushed to our table. We spent over 3 hours eating our delicious meal and enjoyed it immensely. Really interesting and inventive menu, good portions, what more can I say.......... oh yes, i would have liked a little more gravy on my delicious roast beef!
The chocolate mousse was better than ........ so my fiance says!!!

I'm sorry that the previous poster had a bad experience but feel that the staff took time to see that we were happy and would have responded to a complaint had we had any cause.

So disapointed!!! We came to the sun in Northaw on teh 30/09/09 and I could not be more disappointed I asked for the half lobster, over 19, and what it came through was a dwarf half lobster WITH HALF OF THE LOBSTER ITSELF REMOVED. I ask for it asking" what happen to the half lobster ??to the long black hair waitress and she keep repeting every single question that I ask as if I was a 3 years old with the most dismorfic face she could ever pull...even more she keep saying she could not understand me!!!! When I repeat for 5th time why half of the lobster was removed she went to ask the chef and she came back saying that the chef said that the instenstines?? were in the half half of the lobster !!! (actually all half from the head,so figured out...most of it!!!) eventually she went AGAIN !!! TO Ask THE CHEF which he himself came to tell me that most of clients ask for half of the half lobster to be removed (HILARIOUS!!) I said that that was the most delicious part of the lobster (whivh is true).
I end up eating my main plate of over 19 in exactly 30seconds at slow pace so that my partner didnt feel alone with his partridge and not the waiter neither the cheff did offer to prepare me a new one o exchange o nothing so in "the sun" the menu reads: half lobster...and you get an small TAIL OF A LOBSTER ONLY. IF still you feel you want a full lobster the Cheeky cheff told me that I should have ask not to remove half of the half lobster !!! live to belief !!! I will never go back.
