Duke of Wellington, Hatfield Peverelback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
Waited 1 1/2 hours for main to be served and it was freezing cold. Ordered a sea food dish which only had prawns in! Husband ordered rare - medium steak and was WELL done. Total party of 15 and only one person was happy with the food. Would never recommend to anyone!

Visited the Duke of Wellington last weekend, and really enjoyed our visit. They had some lovely beers available, I tried the Old Speckled Hen and a pint of the extra mild. We enjoyed two lovely pork roasts, and retired to the garden for drinks and sun! I must say I do not agree with the comments below, its the best roast I've had for a while, the meat was cooked perfectly, and we think the food was fantastic value for money. (and crackling is always a bonus!) Also baring in mind this is a BEER site not food site. It was also nice to see the management had a cask marque and 100% certificate for their Guinness. Very good job. 10/10

Visited the Duke today, what a lovely place. The staff are very accommodating, and the food is extremely good value for money. A must visit, perfect for a light lunch. I tried the ale "Old Bob" which was very good, they also had IPA, Abbot and a guest ale related to the rugby. Our waitress was very chatty and seemed extremely happy to be there. Will definitely visit again soon!

The Duke of Wellington. I visited this pub for the first time in December, and have been back weekly ever since! They have a fantastic range of real ales (the Rocking Rudolph was good) which change every couple of weeks, and a brilliant wine list. The 2 for 9.95 menu is to die for, you couldnn't cook it at home for that price, and the portion size is very generous. The main thing about this pub is the staff, they are so bubly and friendly, and welcoming to new and existing customers. We were made to feel so welcome, and filled in about all the events that happen on a weekly basis. I belive it was actually the manageress who served us first time, and she is simply delightful. A fab pub to visit if passing through or from the area, keep up the good work!!!!

A pub with great ales and a buzzing atmosphere. Food not as good as expected.

Visited The Duke of Wellington recently on a Monday evening - what a pleasant suprise! A fantastic little gem just off the A12, offering a delicious deal of two meals for 10. Myself and my husband both had the battered cod and chips, which was fantastic! and such good value. The staff were so friendly and showed a great knowledge of their real ales. My husband tried their guest ale Fireside which was poured and presented beautifully, and according to him tasted fantastic! We were surrounded by a lovely atmosphere of fellow happy customers, and the staff were top notch! It looks like it has recently been taken over by new managers Cat and Fletcher, who we think were behind the bar. What a lovely little pub, we will definitely be revisiting soon!

The lager has always been very drinkable, the food is excellent (and good value for money), the staff very pleasant and all in a very nice building. Very difficult to fault with the possible exception of the kiddies play area in the garden. But then I suppose it keeps the kids happy.

Nice building, large car park, beer was awful, between us we tried the bitter, kronenbourg and stella.Ended with Guinness and a Becks ina bottle! safer, staff young and not very customer focused or clued up.Also have quiz night on a Tuesday so place is like a library. Avoid Tuesdays!!!better pubs around.

This pub has a fantastic food menu, a wide selection of drinks. The staff are very welcoming, which adds to the warm atmosphere. Booking may be essential especially at the weekends. Reasonably priced.
