The Duke of Wellington, Hatfield Peverel

Visited The Duke of Wellington recently on a Monday evening - what a pleasant suprise! A fantastic little gem just off the A12, offering a delicious deal of two meals for �10. Myself and my husband both had the battered cod and chips, which was fantastic! and such good value. The staff were so friendly and showed a great knowledge of their real ales. My husband tried their guest ale Fireside which was poured and presented beautifully, and according to him tasted fantastic!
We were surrounded by a lovely atmosphere of fellow happy customers, and the staff were top notch!
It looks like it has recently been taken over by new managers Cat and Fletcher, who we think were behind the bar.
What a lovely little pub, we will definitely be revisiting soon!
