locals are nice people made me feel welcome. not sure on the new landlady as i have met the past one. took about 5-8 mins to get served...... i ordered a pint of Stella and a double vodka and coke, with food on the side. the service i got for my drinks was shocking but the food i was served was unbelievable good quality and service from the staff in the kitchen was very vocal and asked if everything OK? i was very impressed with the food but service at the bar was a challenge i would recommend if certain staff were changed. thanks bob

There is no ale. No lager. No cider. 5 alcopops in the fridge. No customers. No atmosphere. Why bother?

It's shut down now.

R Pomphrey: how bizarre, I was given the same information about the state of health of the bar staff by a customer on another occasion, and it put me off too.

I can only assume it's the same one and his idea of a joke on the non-regulars.

its definalty a locals boozer. and the locals seem to range from villans holding 'business' meetings, to quiet lonely men in beenie hats dotted about the place.

bar maid was nice and polite.

the food was suspiciously cheap, too cheap to be anything but microwaved.

only one ale on, and it was highly suspect. cant remember the brand but its was a hard pint to finish.

pretty building from outside, and the inside had exposed beams and a low wonky ceiling, but its in need of a lick of paint and a bit more life injected into it.

First time we visited they had Sharps Doombar on. It was very cloudy but tasted okay. The bar maid/assistant manager was quite obnoxious trying to
tell a group of seasoned ale drinkers that Doombar was meant to be cloudy!! I visited again in the hope that time had healed this establishment. Sadly, it had not. I experienced the same off-hand service as I did about a year ago. Same bar maid couldn't serve us as another customer informed us she had the shits and was still in the toilet. The place looked decidedly grubby and I felt totally unwelcome. How a place like this functions as a business is beyond me!
We declined to wait any longer to be served and didn't fancy the idea of the fat bar maid's shitty fingers touching our pint glasses. So we promptly left.

I've visited Ye Olde George a few times recently, the drink and the food is good (and reasonably priced). I would use Ye Olde George again.

So it is two years since the spineless c*#t "tankardman" posted. Probably in jail now.

Anyhow, Stuart has taken over as manager since the departure of Jim and Cindy and the pub is still here!

Real ale is perfect. Currently Doom Bar and Courage Directors are being sold which are both served perfectly. Food is good honest pub food at prices which do not hurt the pocket.

Definitely worth a visit. They do not charge the prices of some other local establishments but they do offer the service. All the staff are a credit to the pub and actually do give a damn about their customers.

This pub is the heart and soul of colnbrook, used by people from all walks of life.
The staff are frenidly and efficent.
The food is not posh, just good. I have had some really good nights since Jim and Cindy have taken over the pub.

A good place to visit two good quality ales on when I last visited plesant company and good food available for lunchtimes. Can be busy on Friday and weekend evenings - live music. Mainly a locals pub during the day.

This is not just a bad pub, it's a blot on another otherwise attractive village landscape. The clientele are horrifically intimidating and unpleasant, the staff are a little nicer but only just. Absolutely unwelcoming and with an air of bored menace at the best of times, this pub attracts the very worst of the locals. It's like flies around...well you know the rest. And not even nice flies - irritating, bloated obnoxious flies. Inside is cramped, aggressive and with that all pervaying air of boredom and menace. There are a few regulars who seem to spend most of their lives here and are seemingly perpetually hammered. I don't blame them, I'd need to be utterly intoxicated to spend any time at all in there, let alone my entire waking existence. In the summer - and beyond thanks to the smoking band - the regulars crawl out onto the foreground, and prove a hideous spectacle in an otherwise lovely area. They should knock this pub down and turn it into a marshy pond - most of the regulars would feel quite at home there.

I'ts great to see that colen has been allowed into a local pub again. I see he is following his usual MO by posting a lovely glowing review of the pub. I bet I'm not the only one who can't wait for his usual barbed comments when he eventually gets himself barred. Having seen Jim in action............it won't be too long!!!!!!!

I have been drinking in this pub for the last Decade.
After Dave left it went down.
Enough said.
Now that Jim and Cindy are running the place, it has come back up.
Real Ales, which are my priority, are superb.
Bombardier and Adnams are perfect.
Beyond that, Jim has a real talent for understanding the difference between the occasional request and what is best for the pub.
The upshot is, if you like a real 'local' pub with decent service, then this is the pub.
Thursday night is open mic' night.
Saturday has live music.

Lunchtime visit while doing part of Colne Valley Walk. Adequate inexpensive lunch and reasonable beer. Service not great (new barmaid, inadequately trained) but not unfriendly and the food came quickly once shed conquered the ordering system! While I wouldnt say owners are making best use of an historic old inn, they havent wrecked it either. Not marvellous, but I cant agree with previous reviews.

Very rude owners in this uncomfortable pub over priced beers and poor selection i had to wait nearly 1hour for food not a nice place to visit staff not helpfull at all. avoiding this place is a must!

Without doubt the worst bar I`ve ever had the misfortune to visit, very poor bar service, try not to rest your arm on the bar,it will end up wet or sticky.
This is a pub for drunks NOT drinker looking for a good night out.Try the food at your own peril.Well worth a miss.
