Came in last night for the first time and was pleasantly surprised, especially as they had Peroni on tap ; ). Lovely waitress and niec atmosphere, only prob was they didnt serve food, but was informed from tomorrow onwards they do, as the food mednu looked really good and very reasonable, will be back by the weeks out, especially as they accept Taste cards lol!

One of them is Mr (presumably) R Sole. Says it all really doesit not?
Grand_Mufti - 27 Apr 2011 16:09
hhhmmmmmm, let's see here.

rebecca_grendal, katielong, rob_sole & deepee have never commented on any other pub except this one.

Is there skullduggery afoot? ... you decide.

Came here after hanging out in the park on the Sunday of the bank holiday weekend. we were given a couple of flyers that gave us free shots with our drinks. There were some other great deals on too. I expected Souk to be expensive because it looks like a very up market place but it was actually really reasonable with all these offers!

There was a really great vibe and we ended up staying there till the end which was 4am! Most late night clubs and bars are really grimy but i loved this one! Apparently there similar nights for the Royal wedding bank holiday too...I will be there then for sure!

great place! really friendly staff too.

i made a reservation for a friday and had a really nice table and because i booked for a group of over 20 i had a free bottle of champagne waiting for me!

the night progressed from a chilled catch up with my friends to a full on party! perfect!

katielong - 13 Apr 2011 15:15

Cant believe i hadn't been here before! its just the kind of place i love! Vibrant, trendy, great crowd, cocktails looked really good but i was sticking to the champagne.

I was on a table a friend had reserved for his birthday. we were looked after brilliantly by a really friendly and fun waitress.

we had plans to go somewhere else after a couple of hours at Souk but abandoned them because we where having such a good time where we were!

the atmosphere was great and built up more and more through the night!

great night!

I've only been there on a Thursday night while I was looking for a late drinking venue. everything seemed fine on first impressions, but after asking for a double vodka with a splash of coke (I like to taste the vodka in my drink) and was met with hi-ball glass filled to the top with Coke thrust towards me.

A reply of "that wasn't what I ordered" resulted in the reply of "If you want something else, it's going to cost you another drink. That's how we pour them here" and he quickly took the undrunken drink and put it out of reach, and even when challenged, he wouldn't give it back.

So naturally, as I thought this this wasn't how a bar which values repeat custom should operate, I asked to speak to the manager. The barman then returned, very quickly, with the largest bouncer on hand who then said 'It's a Thursday night, there's no manager here'

After speaking to my fellow drinking companions, they were of the impression that the drinks they've been handed didn't seem the correct 'consistency' (and they do know their drinks).

I can only come to the conclusion that this is not somewhere you should plan to go to, even if you're looking for a late bar.

Funky Place, I like the food here, I was taken on a date here and didnt realise how nice it was. Awesome cocktails....

I Love this Bar.... They Play some Excellent Music & it Generally has a Great Atmosphere & Party Vibe!!

Saying that - some of the Staff are Very Rude & Ignorant! The doorstaff seem on a Power Trip trying to intimidate you & make you look stupid!!

If they could get some Nicer staff who were'nt Up Their Own A**ES & were More down to earth, friendly & Welcoming this would be the Place to go for a TOP NIGHT OUT!! Its still Great but its Hit or Miss as to whether your Night will be A GOOD ONE OR NOT!!

I had such an awesome night at SO UK. I hadn't been out in Clapham for years and wasn't looking forward to it as i'm more used to clubs than bars but i had a really good night. The drinks were well priced, nice staff and really good music.

I might start going to more bars if they are similar to SO UK

Went here for a wine with a friend on Thursday and was really disappointed and will be telling my friends to not go.

Firstly, for somewhere as pretentious as this the service was awful - the waitresses were miserable and overfilled our wine glasses twice to the point of them spilling.

I was made to feel very uncomfortable by two male members of staff in the toilets (the toilets are unisex). A toilet attendant and a doorman were talking loudly and crassly and I had to squeeze between them in order to wash my hands. The doorman then proceeded to quiz me about what I was wearing and generally making me feel very awkward .

For a quiet Thursday night, Ive got to say it was a bit of overkill to have 2 doormen and a toilet attendant. There was definitely more staff than there were punters and this didn't make the service any better.

Not a good place, will not be going back.

The worst pub I've visited in all of London, very pretentious, doorstaff were suitably retarded and told my friend off because they didn't like where he was standing.
ClaphamBoy - 18 Dec 2008 02:11
total dump. Staff are pretentious and rude.
pejpm - 30 May 2007 08:22
After spending a good 4 hours in here with some clients. I could honestly say that the service from the wait staff and the Selection of drinks was that of a high standard.
This was not my choice of venue but i was very happy that it was chosen.

Early evening the ambience and mood is perfect. Soft lighting with background music. But as the night progresses the people show up to show there support to there local bar and everyone enjoys themselves. Some ladies a bit tooooooo much!

The options for bars in Clapham is endless. But this small delight does separate the men from the boys. A GEM!!!!
Frankiesays... - 27 Apr 2007 11:50
W*nky is definitely the right word. Drinks are stupidly overpriced and you get the impression that everyone in here is simply trying too hard to impress each other. Dull.
shindigger - 5 Mar 2007 12:17
Agree - very wa*ky - why would anyone go here?
yt22uk - 19 May 2006 00:01
Since it hasnt took me long to realise that there is no happy medium on clapham high street bars/pubs here are either great or sh*t this is the latter very w*nky.
juzza - 16 May 2006 19:40
Would have done better but for the absolutely outrageous priced drinks. Don't mind if they are good / strong, but the bar tender merely filled a glas with ice and showed it to the bottle - that counted as a drink.

Pity, as it lets down a pub with good vibe / ambience, music, good looking girls and a VERY cute girl who works there (with the dark hair).
tour_contact - 3 Dec 2005 17:35
Mmmmmm NO. dont think so. everything takes too long (getting a drink, earning the money for a drink, and p-ing that money and drink away)...lifes too short, but I might get fished in if I ever need to avoid the Chavish high street antics...but so far have found other places.
kxx - 25 Nov 2005 16:33
Good place for a few cheeky tigers and excellent food to kick start the evening. It is expensive but then that's what keeps the chavs out?!? It does get very crowded at the weekend due to being so small. Personally i've always found the management very friendly.
Angus - 25 Jun 2005 10:45
I quite liked this pub, though you do need a bit of money if you're gonna go here and there's no draught which lets it down a bit, no chavs either though which earns extra brownie points.
scottylad - 14 Dec 2004 10:32
stupidly overpriced drinks, no beer on tap. Decent enough atmosphere is a bit crampled. For people with far too much money only
Seb - 28 Sep 2004 17:49
horrible dress code. i was asked to leave because I had a t-shirt that had the neck cut out of it. the place is full of cookie cutter yuppies. unless you are one of these, avoid at all costs. and the drinks are way over priced. ridiculous place with ridiculous management.
scott - [email protected] - 10 Sep 2004 13:17
I can understand why folks wouldn't really rate this pub due to its over-priced drinks, over-crowded and over-trendy atmosphere. However! It does generally have a great ambience, the music is good and it gets jam packed full of women, what more could a man want? You don't have to stay in there all night after all, just long enough to pull and go somewhere else. ;o)
Andy C - 12 Jul 2004 21:20
Best if you're a sheep, two reasons; any one with the slightest bit of individuality will go else where, whats left is the wannabe trend victims. Point two sheep like being packed into the smallest space possible, look at the live stock lorries, long and narrow, which perfectly describes the inside of this travisty of a drinking venue. In short, don't follow the crowd they're just trying to get out of the cold.
Tristen Sirius-Swan - 1 Mar 2004 15:28
loud, jammed, livley. A few pill popping types which are good to watch, some ppl like to camp it up, which is also worth watching for a laugh. be prepared to queue long for the unisex toilets(not the best I have ever seen) The place is a bit too narrow but the fact its' open until 2am is good.
JP - 17 Feb 2004 19:15
Overcrowded and overpriced, the only good thing going for it is that its open till 2am. Plently of better places to go around the area...
m - 27 Oct 2003 16:51
Noisy, overcrowded & too pricey. I think this place simply tries to hard.
Thomas - 13 Sep 2003 11:10
nice but overpriced
Martin - 13 Aug 2003 16:46
Trendy clientele, lounging seating, funcky tunes, & table service. Kind of like a cool hash bar ...without the hash smokers!
Claphamite - 23 Aug 2002 13:17
