Hog's Back T E A in bad nick, tis a typical South London pikey/Chav boozer, service slow & scruffy.

Any place where you trip over a 'Please Wait Here to be Seated' sign as you walk through the door doesn't qualify as a pub in my book. There is however a small lounge area for drinking which is quite reminiscent of a lounge bar in a cheap hotel. I suspect that's actually what it is as there is a Premier Inn next door. I wouldn't be surprised if the place was owned by Whitbread as you often find pub/restaurant places like this adjoining a Premier Inn to cater for their guests. The beer selection was rather poor and they've stopped serving Erdinger on draught although they did have some bottles.

This free house was serving Greene King IPA today in very good condition; also on offer were Bombardier and Courage Directors. Not an earth-shattering range of beers, but not bad for somewhere that is primarily a restaurant.

It passed a visit, the bar lady who served me was pleasant enough, but can def see the gloomy atmosphere in this place. there was some loud youngsters at the bar on my visit and one of the bar staff guys was def taking his time chatting to them

Good do better but if you've got a bit of tolerance isn't bad bad

I took my mother to this pub one Sunday some years ago and it was clean and nice and had all the things that would please an old lady. I paid a return visit on another Sunday recently (thankfully without mother) and the place is a hell-hole. The only people I'd want to bring here are those in a demolition unit. The pub is noisy with TV and unruly kids, stuffing is creeping out of the seats, the place looked grubby, the drinks were expensive, the bar staff looked as friendly as a death squad, the food looked (on other people's tables) as if it might induce vomiting, and the other customers either looked like they had made a dreadful mistake in coming here or were right at home in this sink-hole. This pub is a total chav city benefit toilet, and I couldn't wait to airlift me and the wife outta there and get some tetanus shots.

Good puib food. Bad attitude from barman. Looked like he wanted a punch up. No manners or pleasantries.

Wont be going there again.

Lovelylady, we met some friends there last week and couldn't agree more. The manager and staff have changed. Customer service is not apparent, we were ignored so many times waiting for a drink that it ended in an argument with the agrogant barman who told me that he wasn't serving the part of the bar I was standing at. Our food was served on a cold plate and the potatoes were rock hard and probably off. The four steaks varied in size and were not cooked as we had asked. Loads of unsupervised and screaming kids were running about. One kid even took chips off my friends plate. Total chav city, avoid this pub with a wide berth

I used to come to this pub all the time and I think it has changed hands recently as standards have certainly slipped. It used to be a decent pub with reasonably-priced, good quality food but not any more. The quality of the food is abysmal and everything quite obviously goes straight from the freezer into the microwave. The white wine is very overpriced and is always served warm, the 'summer special' Pimms is an absolute rip off and one of the bar staff is so surly that he looks like he's about to spit on you when he comes to serve you. On the plus side my boyfriend tells me the lager is a decent price and it has good facility for kids but in my opinion it is definitely a pub to be avoided!

Long wait on Sundays to even get in the door. Good food but don't have the roast dinner too late on a Sunday as it's cooked to death. Nice attentive bar staff who try their best. Good for families.

Nice family pub. Have a good menu and for families a kids menu and play room and playground. Nice for a quiet mid-week drink, pool tables and quiz machines too.
