please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

I visited this pub in February. Looks attractive from the outside and is better still inside. Appears to comprise a typical bar and lounge. A good selection of beers on offer and seems to be promoting craft beers at the moment. I tried a local porter and an American style craft beer brewed by Castle Rock. The porter was excellent but then I'm biased as it's my beer of choice, but still a lovely beer nonetheless. The American craft beer was o.k. But nothing special and at £5.00 a pint probably a tad over priced. A good range of beers on offer though and too much to sample in a single night. The lounge featured a real log fire in a cast iron hearth and so added to the overall cosy atmosphere. There was a decent menu on offer but unfortunately finishes at 7.30pm so I wasn't able to try the food. But overall impressions very good. A decent place to start a pub crawl down the High Street.

Once the real ale Mecca of Lincoln, now sadly a shadow of its former self. Choice of beers is rather hit and miss (mostly miss) and the quality is definitely not up to scratch. Might still be worth a visit though as despite all the indifference it still attracts arguably the friendliest clientele in Lincoln

I'm very surprised by this pub's low rating on here. This was one of the best pubs we tried in Lincoln and was well worth the long walk out of the city centre. There are two rooms - a bar and a slightly more comfortable lounge. I also seem to remember a beer garden (or yard), but my memory is somewhat slurred. Beers available were Fullers London Pride, Castle Rock Preservation Fine Ale & Harvest Pale, Batemans XB & Summer Swallow, Salopian Conundrum & Golden Thread, Pheasantry Best Bitter & Thwaites Fine Rain. Westons Country Perry, Cornish Orchards Pear Cider & Orchard Pig Explorer were also on.

A small, traditional boozer on the main road in to Lincoln that looks quite unprepossessing from the outside. The small front bar is a cosy affair with several tables and chairs filling all the available space. The slightly larger rear bar has a slightly more open feel, a fruit machine and a dart board in the back corner.

Outside there is a small covered patio area on the left, and a good sized beer garden behind the car park. This is a pleasant enough spot, and on a recent Sunday night visit there was a barbeque on, although nobody seemed to be partaking of the food that was being cooked. With no menu, and a few packs of sausages and burgers in Asda carrier bags scattered about, it almost seemed to be a BYO. Perhaps that was indeed the case.

Despite five hand pumps on the bar, only two were in use. However, I suspect this may have been due to it being the tail end of the weekend the remainder all had pump clips turned round, and there were several beers chalked up on a board, suggesting an ever changing selection. The two that survived were Batemans XB and Magpie Brewerys Fledgling. The solitary cider was Stowford Press.

Superbly traditional Tynemill pub at the bottom end of the High Street-quite a walk from the centre but worth it.
It's very unspoilt, with a central bar serving a completely separate front bar room and a rear lounge. Both rooms are wood-panelled and have traditional green pubby furnishings throughout, including some unusual fixed slatted-style seating in the centre of the lounge, not wall-mounted.
Tynemill's excellent guest policy is reflected here, with Castle Rock plus 6 guests. Tried the Pale and Leeds Best, both excellent.
This is another fine pub in Lincoln and one to head to.

Cracking beer! Real no-nonsense drinking pub by the looks of things - the owner of our guesthouse was saying that it was one of those 'part-owned by Camra" places an it really shows in the qulaity of the ale. Mainly Castle Rock with guests. The chinese just up the road is good for working up a thirst too.

excellent if rather small two bar pubs with a good selection of real ales - perhaps let down slightly by the smoke !

I give this pub an 8 for the quality and care taken in looking after the real ale.

Good little boozer, south end of Lincoln high street.
nice little lounge, and a lively bar. A Tynemill pub, selling a good sellection of real ales and good Lagers.
Be warned can get very busy on match days, and absolutely packed on friday quiz nights.
