please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

A lot has changed since last reviews.. massive refurbishments, very contemporary.. if you like carpets, snugs and darts boards you'll be disappointed... However, lovely staff, very dog friendly, and food and beer to die for... Woodford Wherry and a Humpty Dumpty ale, plus Norfolk Adder cider. The owners will make this work, and whilst not my idea of the perfect pub, very recommended...

Decent, traditional food with good food at reasonable prices. Wherry on cask, the guest was not on when I called in. Well worth a visit if you're in the area.

Nice relaxed pub which seems to focus more on the restaurant side of things. Food was good quality as was the beer - Wherry from the cask, Ansells Mild and a couple of Green King beers.

Nice pub, nice food, friendly staff, nice location, nice choice of beers. That's all you need to know!

Checked out this very pleasant pub for a quick drink between a country walk and lunch with local friends. Asked how bitter the local beer (Wherry) was (I prefer ale to bitter) and another customer said it was bitter. Rather than plump for the Abbot I tentatively ordered the Suffolk cider and the barman offered me a taste first. Nice touches included free nibbles on the bar and newspapers to read on the comfy sofas; elegant tables and chairs and jasmine in the beer garden; and themed decoration in the toilets, but without losing the relaxed feel of a friendly pub which serves food (prices looked reasonable).

Stayed in a cottage in South Creake February 2005. Nice to have such a good pub to eat out in!

Young, freindly, energetic hosts who were balancing their successful business with a new born baby and a crazy beagle called Boo!

Very welcoming locals. Delicious food (mussels were fabulous). Nice local photography on the walls which is for sale.

Dog friendly.

Seem to remember that they do accommodation too. Looked nice.

Highly recommend this place!

Stayed in the village recently. The pub is excellent. Good range of well-kept beers, very much above-average but affordable food, much of it locally-sourced, and above all a friendly welcome - from publicans, staff and locals alike.

If you have a chance and it's the kind of thing that interests you, visit the village church. It's remarkable.
