Rough & ready, cheap'n'cheerful. Probably worst pub in area but with the best view.

beer very poorly kept, badly trained staff. nice view from the terrace out back though, but do yourself a favour and get yourself a pint at the coach house next door and drink that there instead.

In here last Saturday and a bit posh like most Hotel bars but lacking in atmosphere.
3 hand pulls for GK IPA & Old Speckeled Hen (3.10pp) and a house beer.

Stayed here over the weekend. Good accomodation and excellent service from the restaurant. Girl behind the bar though frowned as if she had bet her mortgage on Ricky Hatton winning on Saturday night.

Some interesting local characters frequented the bar early Saturday evening as well as guy in drag who I assume was on his stag weekend.

Beer ;GK IPA, Old Speckled Hen plus own brew were OK, but not fantastic.

Stayed for 2 nights BB. Accommodation OK but whole place could do with refreshing. That said, the service and friendly attention was without fault. Food very good - excellent value - including dinner menu. Usual GK beers swell kept and served.

Luncheon today. Beer battered cod & Scampi. Both so fresh they tried to leap from the plate.
Service from a charming young lady who could string words together in coherent sentences. Sadly, due to being in the car, unable to sample the beer. Perhaps next time.

I appreciate all the previous comments, but you are all missing what this pub is best for. You can sit outside on a hot day, soak up the rays and enjoy a nice cool pint of lager or cider. There is an uninterupted view of the sea, loads of top totty walking by and when you need to cool down you can walk straight into the sea. If this is the pub's only redeeming factor, it's worth a visit just for that.

This really has to be the worst pub I have been to in years.
The food is truly dreadful - avoid the "Rustic Platter" like the plague. The ham was out of a tin, and the chicken slices were from Iceland - very very small portion and it was 9+. As for the scampi, it contained no prawns, and the batter was soggy.
The place is full of chavs, the staff are as miserable as sin and I know that every time I drive past I will refer to it as the worst meal ever eaten.

Enjoyed a wedding function here, large workmanlike useable space, clean loos if somewhat uninspiring decor all round. Staff not that attentive but friendly though.
Bar with usual brands and Greene king ales, staff couldnt tell me what the 'white horse ale' was but it tasted like the usual GK offering, bland and thin. The Guiness was great though, poored correctly with tight white head, no drips, correct glass etc. The wedding DJ had top qulaity fuzzy grey hair - just like 'Hairbear!' from the Hanah Barbera cartoons...

Unwelcoming - closed at 6pm on Boxing Day. Two chavs (who had both been drinking in the bar, prior to the closure) both urinated on the outside terrace when they left! I'm not surprised, the toilets inside were filthy and unchecked by the management.
What a dump.

Awful, characterless, chain pub. To be avoided.
