I've been to this pub a few times and my wife and we like it. Good food, good service (mostly). It is quite pricey and is trying to look modern-esque. For a current menu with prices go visit the McMullen website.

One of those "pubs" where they want you to eat rather than drink and then clear off as quickly as possible so they can free up the table for somebody else. This is a perfect example of bean counters taking over pubs and not giving a toss about tradition or heritage.

I visited the pub on Thursday as the manager from the Millstream said it was a nice place to go, a little upper market i was told! YEAH RIGHT! The place looks realy nice, could do with a bit of a clean! The manager from the millstream should go visit it. I realy didnt like it, I was served by I assume the manager, so rude! He looked like he'd just rolled out of bed, I orderd my drink and he said to me 'is that it, just a drink' and smerked at me! I was going to eat but HE WAS SO RUDE! I went to my normal pub in hitchin I WONT GO HERE AGAIN! You get better sevice in emdinton McDonalds!....and thats realy bad!!!

This pub has changed alot. It has had a re-dec, new staff and good food. Non smoking, and good McMullens real ale. Good pub!

Visited this pub today on the way to the airport, the waitress behind the bar took our order, which we had to pay for straight away, and yes VERY EXPENSIVE, sat down to have our meal to find she'd not even ordered one of our meals, assuming she's reordered 4 of us eat our meal and wait for the 5th, which doesnt come, the waitress service was diabolical, and when we complained to management all he did was grin.
I for one would not recommend this pub to anyone

I visit this pub on a very infrequent basis. Nice big pub and can accomidate families pretty well. On the edge of town so it mainly attracts local residents and not some if the idiots that frequent the town. As mentioned before, very expensive for what you get. If you're wanting VFM on your food try across the road.

i think Tones hit the nail on the head - WHY SO EXPENSIVE??
nice quiet pub during the week - just hits the wallet hard.

Used to come here all the time until The Well opened over the road. Nothing wrong with the place, it's just a little stale now.

Why so expensive!?

All the food in McMullen's pubs tend to be the same, pretty average as far as I am concerned and a little over priced for packet class food. I think we have all moved on from chips, chips and chips.

Average pub, average food. Poor beer choice. You feel a little alone in there. The pub is quite big, no atmosphere. Don't think its helping them with The Well being just over the road. Tough competition.
