Visited here on Monday during a Day visit to the I.O.W. Walked from Yarmouth to Freshwater and ended up here. Being a Fullers pub I was looking forward to a pinet of one of my favourite beers (London Pride), sadly the ONLY Bitter available on the Pumps was Seafarer (a beer I had not tried before). I found the beer to be flat and lifeless and only just drinkable. There was also a range of Lagers on offer but sadly three of these were unavailable. As this was a Monday dinnertime I can only assume they had had a busy weekend and were awaiting deliveries. Nice inside but smelt of Brasso as it appeared they were in the middle of cleaning and left it on the bar, so I went and sat outside in the secluded garden in the front, a bit noisy but it was on a main road. The Baguettes were very good and reasonable at £4.95. Will give it a try next time and hope there is more choice available.

This Fullers pub looks quite attractive from the outside. It certainly seemed popular, with the car park completely full. Inside the bar snakes around a central fireplace, making the pub far bigger than it originally seems. However the interior holds less of appeal than the exterior promises. Ales on were Pride, HSB & Seafarers. A little disappointing.

A Fullers pub - popped in to see if the new 'Bengal Lancer IPA' was available. Unfortunately not but had a 'Seafarers' instead which is just as good. Ate lunch here - had a chicken, leek and something pie. Very good. Alot of food and well made. More an eating type establishment, suited to families, its a fair enough place. Clean and tidy. Good service.

Visited on 28th Feb '09 at lunch time. Pub is smart with well tended gardens and looks attractive. Food is obviously a large part of their offering, with abundant menus and plenty of fish & chip options (funny, there's a chippie opposite, too!). Clients were not far off the walking dead, elderly regulars who had to shout at each other to be heard, so not very relaxing, with a smell of chips and vinegar. Not pleasant when trying to enjoy a pint. Talking of which, what an odd choice. Draught beers were London Pride, Butser and Discovery (Fullers blonde). So two session beers and no ESB or HSB. Having been weaned on HSB, I was disappointed. The pride was OK, and I'd visit again to give it a second chance. The Prince of Wales sounds more to my taste, so I'll try that when next in the area.

Still as good as ever. No more HSB on draught, but London Pride and two others 'Butser' and a changing guest. Lovely range of food.

Best pub in Freshwater area, and friendly staff who remember you. Great food, which is both reasonable and plentiful, epecially the sizzling dishes. An ex-Gales pub which has not gone down in quality or value for money since recently becoming part of the Fuller's empire. Three real ales - London Pride, HSB and changing guest ale.

Friendly staf with average beer (three real ales on hand pumps). The cooked food was good, plentiful and reasonably priced. My wife and I enjoyed a visit forlunch on Saturday 10th June, relaxing in the sunny, pleasant beer garden.

Large-ish pub in the centre of the village. Beer average and pub decidedly wierd. Whether it was cos we were there before the main tourist weeks, I don't know, but there seemd a strange atmosphere. Also, this pub still had the heating on in the middle of June? Visit June 04- voted 3
