Not worth visiting. Trys to be everything to everyone and fails. How could the Prince of Orange become such a dull pub?

Never worked out why this place is so popular when there are much better places within 5 mins walk. Must be something to do with "atmosphere" (for which read too noisy and nowhere to sit).

Good pub atmosphere and a decent pint of Youngs. If you enjoy sport then you are catered for with coverage of the major sporting events of the day.

it's ok as far as pubs in chelmsford go. nothing special. reckon heinekan @ 3.10 a pint is fairly steep. (it's not the city of london!)

overall, 6.5 on 10

i have to admit the best pub i ever frequented was the prince of orange, every friday and saturday night i used to stagger home with a kebab from rams then wring the beer out of me tee shirt when i got home....lol great times!

Always thought it strange that Chelmsford's Irish pub was called the Prince of Orange - were they taking the p*ss?

Those who remember the Prince of Orange will be a little let down, but they haven't ruined this place completely. The floor still sticks to your shoes and there's still usually a Irish guy in the corner playing a penny whistle.

friendly staff with one or 2 good ales on offer, the only problem was the music was way too loud, couldn't hear the person next to me, also a couple of blokes at the bar who obviously loved the sound of their own voices and wanted everyone else to hear them too, ok for a quick pint on the way to moulsham street but thats about it.

First of all, Prince of Orange RIP. However, i was not unduly disapointed when i went in again. Nice pub, friendly atmosphere and friendly staff. Had a fantastic St Patrick's day party this year and thouroughly enjoyed myself. New year's was pretty good too. Good place to party, good place to chill on a weekday after work.
But be warned... there is a fantastic selection of home made flavoured vodka shots. They are very morish and very lethal too, so don't get started on them if you have to be up early!!
This pub is well worth a visit of an evening!

Chavcentral, you are SO right, that place certainly put the "Bling" into crumble. More alcopops needed though, 9/10 otherwise.

Get in lads, the first 'chav-friendly' pub in Chelmsford. Forget about those real ale, authentic, agreeable places people crave for, come and join us in O'Connors for a Stella drinking, conviction comparing, burberry wearing, ASBO obligatory, day of your life. We don't drink at night on account of our tag's, but I've been told of someone who used to fix fighter jets, so these will be off in 6 months, or so.

Big respect, fellow chav's, and remember where we are.
