Very picuresque setting with stream and resident ducks - food for ducks now avaialable at the bar! Very friendly staff, and seems to always have 2-3 ales on - recently Pedigree and Titanic White Star.
Restaurant has recently been refurbed to a very high standard and has a very good menu with a good chef - we tried the lamb with artichokes - excellent.
Good quiz on Thursdays with good prizes.

I've been coming to this pub with a friend, who practically lives next door to the place, for years. It's surprising to read some of the "good for family" reviews below, as whilst there are plenty of families who frequent the establishment, and I'm sure have a good time; for me and a group of friends its a place where we've had some raucous nights over the years and unfortunately we've probably offended a great many attending patrons. The beer is ok, not great. The food has never been particuarly good, but I think some people gloss over that given the nice countryside location etc.

This is very much a summer pub for me. If it's sunny and you fancy a few quiet beers and a bit of grub, in a nice location then this place is ideal. There's a decent variety of beers available, and the food is varied and to a decent standard. If you're in driving distance and want to take family along, this place is spot on. I'm yet to have a bad experience there...

It is a beautiful pub in the counryside with a museum, exellent food, good beer, the staff are friendly and polite. It's a great place to go if you have children as it has a indoor and outdoor playarea and it is nice as a day out with family

Captivating. That's the first word that springs to mind.
It has a lake out front, frequented by ducks, swans, herons and fish.
A river beside it. Plentiful seating areas, and a good selection of food.
Oh yes, and the beer aint bad, either!
