I had to write in and defend my favourite pub in Bedford! I have no idea where everyone else has been going, but it's definitely the best pub in Bedford.
At the weekend the doormen, the DJ and the staff on the whole are friendly, there is rarely any trouble, and the drinks are reasonably priced. The music is easy on the ears and although quite similar week to week, the regulars appreciate that.
This place has the livliest (and friendliest) atmosphere in Bedford at the weekend.

The Bedford Lounge used to be Currys (who are always cutting prices, apparently). It had more appeal than it has now.

Good atmosphere & drinks, very friendly & cute staff.
An all round fun place to visit in a group.
Can't wait to see the planned refurb!!!!!

This is probably as bad as the Litten Tree, awful pub, service is so slow you could drive to Milton Keynes and back in the time it takes to get served, staff are not friendly, not worth it, chavs love it at the weekend as well. The food served is microwaved as well.

Popped in for a cuppa and a meal yesterday. Truly awful - despite the fact that nobody else was eating the sandwich I ordered took half an hour. On top of that, the milk supplied with my tea was as sour as the attitude of the bar staff.

What the hell is this place trying to be?! It's like Llewelyn-Bowen was given �500 to turn a normal bar into an arty, stylish 'pad'. It's cheap & tacky looking, usually empty (not surprising) and.....it's just awful!!
