Pick-up joint for 20-somethings in crap suits and trainee accountants.
I attended a leaving do and was told three times by a spotty youth that standing up was forbidden upstairs! No real ale - just bottles of Southwold and Explorer from the chilled cabinet. Single G&T and a bottle of Southwold was £10.60. Avoid unless you are a trainee accountant or a youth in a cheap suit.

Dismal

The name certainly suggests whoever came up with the concept of the Ha Ha Bar had a sense of humour. Perhaps that the idea came out of putting together a list of things visitors liked most about pubs ... then doing the exact opposite and charging O.T.T. prices. Ha! Ha! The jokes on you who enters.

Have been to this Hahas a few times and have always had a great time. Whether eating in the restaurant or just having a drink the staff have always been very attentive, welcoming and smilely. It continues to be one of my favourite bars for a drink before the theatre, being well located to almost all the theatres around covent garden, and almost anytime that I go into central London.

This is a place that will suite many, but will send others away screaming. I paid a visit here to the Ha Ha Bar & Canteen last Thursday (10th May) and have to say that it was very much equal to my not so high expectations. Personally, I dont mind modernised bars, so long as they get the basics right, but like so many others I have visited, this place just doesnt quite cut it. The service was atrocious, my pint wasnt quite a pint and I was asked by some weirdo to watch their bag whilst they go in search of hash. Expect a mix of the usual suited and booted brigade supping wine and indiscreetly fiddling with their Blackberries as well as trendy student types and foreigners. The music was pleasant however. Oh well, I suppose thats something.

utter crap, only for the kent comuter brigade who never venture more than 6 foot from the station. been forced to go here on many occasions it must be the most inefficent use of space ever, overpriced and crowded. not for the pro drinker

Ha Ha indeed, it seems that like so many before you you have all been conned into the belief that atmosphere can be created.

These souless barns deliver exactly what they promise.....................b****r all

Pile of sh1te.

Your post is a truly tragic tale, as if you'd only but consulted this site you would have seen that you are close to what many consider one of the best pubs in Britain (the Harp), and a number of others worthy of praise. No need to slag off London simply because you make bad choices.

Came here after work on a Friday night (29 Sept), following a session in the Victoria one. 3 Magners cost 11.25, so make what you want from that.

When I go out on a Friday night, I would like to walk into a bar with a lively atmosphere. Maybe I spent too long in the Ha Ha! Bar and Canteen in Victoria, but this one was quite simply soulless. I have seen more character on a box of corn flakes. With Charing X around the corner, I was more than happy to swiftly leave this place to escape the too costly, too crowded and too cosmopolitan capital city. H-File search? More chance of Charlton winning away from home in the league!

Pile of overpriced sh1t, much better option is to go to the Princess of wales opposite

Head banging choons from a resident dj and no atmosphere whatsoever, grub's okay and the staff are friendly, average range of lagers for the "up west" brigade and dassit!

Awful chain bar with no soul. Avoid unless desperate.

A place this size really needs another bar upstairs. Enjoy confusing your friends, and subsequently the staff by asking them to buy some of the olives that are displayed around the place. They're part of the decor, very bizarre.

During our 10 day holiday in London, my family and I found the food at Ha Ha's to be our favorite. They have wonderful dishes - we taste-tested each other's meals - they were all excellent. Although everything seemed expensive for us traveling from the US, we found Ha Ha's to be the same price as many other small restaurants. The downfall for us was the poor air quality - we left reeking with the smell of cigarettes and we even experienced some allergic reactions such as coughing and teary eyes. Without the smoke, we would have returned every night! A smokeless version of Ha Ha's in California would be very successful.

Don't drink the Azzuro Nastro! It's foul beyond words........Foster's is okay though.

Good food well cooked, wide-ranging menu. Good range of imported lagers as well.

Looks good and has interesting layout. Good place to meet up. Food's great (but too expensive), bottled beers are also expensive (3.30).

Its ok, i agree music too loud and place is very full of suits from the nearby offices - problem is atmosphore isnt great, seats that there are enclose and not great. Nice staff and fairly cheap drinks (pint around 2.70 i believe, cheap for central london) best place for after work drink if coming from area around

It's an okay place. Feels trendy, but isn;t really.
Music is often too loud to have a conversation which either is or isn't an advantage...
