The Goose on the Broadway, Stratford

For a big town centre this is a big bar, by way of atmosphere it really hasn't got much but that said it's light, spacious and I like the nice leather comfy sofa's dotted around which are blissful to slump into with a pint at the end of a day at the grind.
There's a upper tier level for non smokers and the toilets are clean as a whistle, best part is the meal with a beer deals which are good value especially if you're meeting up with mates after work.
The beer prices won't leave you out of pocket either as the competition from nearby weatherspoons and yate's is rife, the staff are friendly and my only quibble is the sometime lack of ashtrays but that said....yup, I like it :-)

The Princess of Wales, Charing Cross

Go here on a saturday night and this place will be heaving but god knows why? it's small, loud with half cut drinkers and if you're lucky enough to make it to the bar be warned that just dangling a limp tenner at the bar staff (assuming there's more than one behind the bar on the busiest night of the week)will get you noticed, the insanely few (1 barmaid on last visit) staff are stressed out and the competition of the other drinkers doing exactly the same as you is more or less gladitorial....AVOID!!!!!

PS...There's grub upstairs but I didn't have any will left to suss it out!

All Bar One, Charing Cross

Head banging choons from a resident dj and no atmosphere whatsoever, grub's okay and the staff are friendly, average range of lagers for the "up west" brigade and dassit!
