A very well clean kept pub/Restaurant. I had a close friend who worked here and heres a few pointers that I think you should all know about before adhering praise for this pub. The owners treat their staff like muck, the title of barmaid, waiter or waitress I always thought does not involve litter picking in the garden, weeding or cleaning the shed out or even scrubbing. I saw this with my own eyes and thought it was a disgrace. The majority of staff here are foreign and live above. They are paid a pittence to work here and are deducted a huge amount from their wages for their accomodation. Even the staff do not have a share in tips, it is used for staff uniforms as well as deodarants and the rest is kept by the management which I think is a disgrace. Now ladies if you love your wine..your be astonsihed to know that the wine you are drinking here is not actually the wine lablelled. Next time you ask for a bottle of white or red house wine your see for yourself that the bottle top has already been broken..the wine is of that of a 2.99 cheap horrible plonk..Your see for yourself the staff keep the empty bottles behind the bar available for top up by the false smiling woman owner... I think trading standards will have something to say about this. The owners treated my friend lke muck but they were too smart to continue working here. Now the person who did work here was hardworking, committed and loyal but just was not prepared to work like a pawper. Their own words were ' was like treading on egg shells'. Just pull the staff to one side and ask them...Apart from that, It is a decewnt pub with award winning ales, even though the '3 day rule' keeping the award is not cracked up to what its meant..as the owners who are nothing but money grabbers..cease to tell you that dates are changed as well as selling you shi**y wine albeit with a big smile on their face. I wonder why???
